What was the point of the qualifying races the weekend before where we were told that only the first 13 in each race make this race the next weekend?

qualifying races were held the day before not weekend before.

1:02:55 baby boy Gary St Amant all 31 years old. This is 2023, nearly 33 years later. If he was born in 1962 & is now only 60 years old, how does that add up. Oh yea, it is some of that old school math.
