I am 155lbs and the 200rr is an absolute woods weapon when it comes to gnarley single track riding. It reminds me of an updated version of my 95 KDX 200. I really enjoyed the 300rr but it made me more of a lazy rider…which I don’t enjoy. I think if your 190-200lbs or lighter the 200rr is the way to go. Any heavier than that I would recommend the 300rr. Just my two cents!

I just purchased this bike for my wife, she is converting to 2 stroke. THIS IS THE UNICORN OF TRAIL BIKES. Good power, light, nimble, awesome suspension. And for beginners, you have the map switch to tone down the power. We were on the fence with the Husky 150 and KTM 150, but no regrets with the BETA so far. I'm 6 feet, 230lbs, and I instantly felt comfortable on this bike, especially while standing. This will be a good backup bike for me if my wife doesn't go :)

I think you would be happy with a 250. The 200 doesn't fall off at all. It has really nice over-rev. A 250 would still be playful but would also have the grunt you would want being at the 200lb mark. I have a 1977 Suzuki GT750 with kick and electric start. Electric start works fine and parts are available. Pretty simple system.

You have to go back a long ways in order to find bikes that dont have the possibility of failed electronics. One of the people i used to ride with owned a 2001 KTM 125sx and the thing kept frying its black box computer. Electronics are something that has been refined over the years, but it will likely fail at some point. In that case you just hope that parts are available.

Then you push start it; I disagree with you, the starters have become so reliable. Also, you can buy a more durable bendix if you really wanted to. One of my bikes is a 2019 300 XCW TPI, it runs absolutely perfect and has since day one. I've never kicked started it, not once (even though it has a kick starter on it). I have put well over 400 hours on the bike, same starter different top end. It doesn't take much for the starters to kick over that two stroke engine.

@@RacerRed wouldn't have to worry much if it had a backup Kickstarter that's why it's called back up, I don't think your hopes should be high at all for availability of electronic starter parts in the middle of a dessert ride when you would actually need it .... Look at it like this there's nothing wrong with your bike but yet you have to walk it a mile back to the truck all because of a starter
