Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing's Eli Tomac ruptured his Achilles tendon while leading the main event at the Denver Supercross on Saturday. Not only is that the end of Eli Tomac's championship run in 2023, but it potentially has much larger implications. A simply shocked contingent of racers and industry personnel reacted right after happened including race winner and now champion-elect Chase Sexton. This one moment in supercross history has the potential to be one of the most pivotal in the sport's history.

@@codyb6849 which one of those riders can come from a 20th-place start and rip through the field in the way ET does? sure Barica can T-Bone a few guys and get in the top 10. ET races so clean, hence why he is one of the most if not the most respected guys on the start gate. I'll still watch, it just won't be the same without ET on the gate.

As shocking as it was to watch live, it says something about your character (on both sides) to see how everyone has reacted. No one can say Chase didn't deserve it, because he continued to fight even after all the mistakes to put himself in the position he was in. No one could have known the things that would transpire, leading to the current points situation. I truly hope its not the last we see of Tomac, as he deserves a better send off than what transpired. Chase has also shown a level of maturity that is second to none throughout the whole situation, and a level of respect that speaks volumes to his character. The gate will feel empty without ET3 on it.

Honestly if I had to get rid of an obstacle it would be dragons backs. Riders already hate the whoops most weekends because of how big they've gotten, but putting them on an incline is just asking for injuries. I think it's also worth noting that the sport has gone through a dramatic skill increase, and to stay competitive it means the riders have to take more risks.

450 4T are the problem. The ama only cares about ticket sales. The 250f/450f should be replaced with 350f, but then they sell half as many bikes. And, 4t must have enough advantage over 250 2t, or it will lose on some tracks. The other elephant in the room is the number of pack fillers. The local and state level races have been thinned out by the cost of 4t and suspension. This was obvious 10 years ago.

@CaddyJim
@CaddyJim Жыл бұрын
@@gcow8328 where did I mention Chase making the same mistakes as last year. I didn't think my comment was a debate but if you want to get into it it's why you should race every race to win. Eli knew he didn't have to win so he's been taken s rather than pushing. Long story short I'm bummed for Eli & Cooper's probably kicking himself because he could have rode evil only suffering from a concussion But in the end like *Reed* always said "you have to be in it to win it." So it's impossible for Chase to lose next week

@Caddy Jim "2nd time he's won from a end of the year injury." what does an injury have to do with it? They fucked up, made a mistake. Your comment sounded a lot like the other ones saying sexton got handed the championship, you just didn't have the balls to come right out and say it.
@CaddyJim
@CaddyJim Жыл бұрын
@@gcow8328 I got plenty of balls if that's what I wanted to say I would have said it. There's always mistakes both RV & Stewart crashing A1 having to make up those twenty-five points over the season when their. Chase put himself in a position to take advantage of such I just look at it different when somebody crashes out of the Siri versus making mistakes throughout the series. You're talkin about Chase crashing two or three chimes near the end of the race will Eli had that odd crash in the Triple Crown & then he had the neck injury so they both have problems throughout the series that's different than. Competitors being injured & can't compete. Reed one his 2004 Championship with an injury and got so much credit for racing with it didn't finish well but enough to get some points that night and nursed back to health throughout the end of this Championship to win

Any injury that any rider has, always get into a hyperbaric chamber for oxygen therapy. Healing is far quicker.

Eli: Eat your pineapple to get your bromelain. It'll speed up the connective tissue healing. You can take it as an isolated supplement, too. And arnica ointment might be helpful, especially early on. Good luck!

Sexton genuinely seemed disappointed that he won it that way. He needs to back it up or history will mark it as a hollow title. Unfortunately.

The only reason I’m even remotely excited for outdoors is to see how Jett does. Outdoors just isn’t the same without ET3.

“Don’t get to see Eli and Jett in outdoors” what about Eli and chase?? Was last year not badass enough to mention him in that sentence? That’s where my interest was, I know Jett will be quick but villipoto couldn’t even figure it out right away on 450, why is Jett automatically above chase who’s shown his speed on 450 outdoors already?
@StartYourSystems
@StartYourSystems Жыл бұрын
Not really even close to what that sentence meant, and then I stated Chase Sexton in the very next sentence. Of course we were all looking forward to more Eli vs Chase battles. Jett coming to the 450 class is like James Stewart stepping into the RC vs Reed battles but oh darn now Carmichael isn't even there and now we may never see James race RC.

Watching AMA after MXGP is like watching the local club meet in comparison, the riders are visibly slower in the US. Shame the English language coverage ain't so great.

I'd say AMA better take a long hard look at track designs. These are the best riders in the world that are biting the dust from injuries and now they even get serious injuries without even crashing. What does that tell you??? Never been a huge SX fan...Real outdoor MX is much better to watch. Now that Eli is done and I bet will retire I am done with all of it. With so many spoiled little attention junkies like haden Kardashian Deegan buying his way into the pros I refuse to watch anymore. Its guys like him that ruined NASCAR. Hang tough Eli and speedy recovery!
