Cafe Racer (BMW K1100 RS by Powerbrick)

If you're a fan of the BMW K Series, I'm sure you've always thought of a way, to fit a big tire on the rear wheel.
If this is your case, then you will love to see the bike featured in this video.
Without a doubt,this BMW has one of the biggest tires I've ever seen, on the rear of the K Series.
The project was baptized, “Vigilance", and it was built by Tim Somer, founder of Powerbrick, a BMW parts specialist located in Holland
I am sure you will like it.

Even the most subtle change can make a major difference. Most people have no idea as to how much time, money, and engineering it takes to strip something like this down to the bare minimum, and still maintain functinality. The placement of the "black box" is a good example. Making it so that it is not obvious, hiding all of the wiring, keeping it accessable as well. Beautiful machine! I have often thought the the BMW motorcycles were featured too often on this channel, but the particular example changes my perspective. Hats off to the builder!!!

In my humble opinion, this is the most beautiful BMW Café conversion that I have seen. From some angles, the rear swingarm appears out of place, but, from another view, it’s perfectly set up for this machine. The paint scheme is the best I’ve seen, absolutely stunning! What an inspiration! I would like to meet this builder, he definitely has his act together! As always, thank you for Racer TV, the Café racers only choice! There is so much going on with this machine it's very impressive that it achieves as much as it does. I'm impressed with the fact that Powerbrick was able to use the Red/Orange stripe color and match it with the water hose, brake hose, and front struts. The Pirelli tires bring a forceful entity to the bikes overall appearance. What an aggresive looking thread design. The fact that the headlight and tank align brings up an interesting perspective on the overall design. When you look at the side view at timeline 7:12 you must ask if that was the right decision. Because the intersection between the seat, tank, and frame look out of place with that gaping air space. That is the Achilles heel to an otherwise awesome build.

Swingarm is not really a secret. Its indeed a R1150 swingarm and some minor mods to the gearbox to fit it. Rearwheel is a custom wheel with more offset I believe.

Initially, I thought exactly the same. But after looking at all the small details on the swing arm, I conclude it can't be only a R1150 swingarm. If you pay attention where the monoshock is bolted on, you will see that the swing arm is slightly different. And the swing arm rear end, is also different. Let me know what you think. :)

Ive talked to them because i wanted the same mod (and did it). Its just a r1150 swingarm with a k1100 or 1200 reardrive and a r1100 drive shaft. Extra length is more then 15mm, more like 50mm

@@RACER_TV Hitman is right. Fantastic building that certainly provides incredible enjoyment at high speeds on straight lines. But that you can't drive on a roundabout. As an owner of a K1100 RS (humbly customized by myself which resulted with a 60 kg weight loss), I can confirm this bike on its original form is already very rigid on corners and so stable on straight lines that you can drive it with one single hand at 175 km/h without fairing. Thank you Victor for your great work. Your channel made me wishing and able to carry on my customization project. Best wishes to You, your channel and your followers.

Con una discreta dose di impegno anche le serie K possono apparire sportive ma se posso aggiungo anche che la porzione di codino posteriore è troppo piccola e sproporzionata rispetto alla parte centrale e anche rispetto allo sbalzo eccessivo della ruota posteriore. Ahimè questi sono gli stilemi un po'di moda che secondo me andrebbero abbattuti. Complimenti per la realizzazione, migliore rispetto al 90% delle special su questa base.
