I’m blown away by how the bike looks now-very impressive! - these old used K bikes are easily available for sale in the US and relatively inexpensive, but I certainly wouldn’t have a clue or mechanical skills to make it look like that! 😂 Wish I did because that would be one amazing bike to ride.

Such complete mastery of so many skills is extremely impressive. I could imagine learning some of those with but it would take years of training under intense guidance. But that amount of wiring completely freaks me out - even with much experience and an electrical schematic in hand. You, sir, are a legend

This build is road legal!! That is the big difference to all those california style cafe racers. Germany has one of the most restrictive laws on modifying an original motorbike. This bike is really awesome

Indeed 😅 not easy to pass TÜV in Germany but possible. Anyhow I was nervous before the inspection you never know what type of guy will check it. Luckily everything was all right.

@@christopherbelser1160 Es war eine Einzelabnahme. Wie so oft steht und fällt alles mit dem Prüfer 😅 grundsätzlich freut sich jeder Prüfer über eine Fotodokumentation um den Prozess nachvollziehen zu können, ist aber kein muss. Mein Prüfer war froh so ein bike zulassen zu dürfen, es gibt aber auch die Fraktion die nur nach Sachen schaut um dich durchfallen zu lassen 🤷🏻♂️ am Ende hat mich die Einzelabnahme knapp 500€ gekostet, nun ist aber alles eingetragen und ich bin bei jeder Kontrolle oder TÜV safe. VG Patrick ✌🏻

Ein Wahnsinn was man alles so machen kann. Ich habe die k 100 rs. Bj 85 und bin sehr zufrieden damit, aber so umgebaut sieht sie tausendmal besser aus. Sehr schöne Arbeit. 😜👍

@@jjli-dp8cp das Design entstand ganz intuitiv, es kam viel darauf an wie die einzelnen Teile aussehen und dann hatte ich nach und nach ein Bild im Kopf. Der Effekt bei einer K100 ist halt wirklich krass im Vergleich vorher nachher.

@@noxwell88 Die Stummellenker sind von Telefix, die kommen mit ABE von daher keine Probleme bei der Eintragung, musst nur auf die Dicke deiner Gabel achten, es gibt da wohl Unterschiede bei den Baujahren. Den Scheinwerfer habe ich von www.kickstartershop.de, der hat auch alle Prüfzeichen und ist somit Eintragungsfrei ✌🏻

I used hammerite for the block and brake caliper paint for the covers. I would recommend to search for an engine paint via Amazon and then heat it up with a heat gun. Hammerite is just too rough.

Mostly I use regular brake cleaner for the bad stuff, before painting I clean the parts with isopropanol 😊

It depends really what kind of parts you use. This was not really low budget as I planned to do it so it will end up at 10k just material costs. Working time not even to speak about 😂 I would say somewhere around 12k

Why is the saggy butt look of the tail so commonly left uncorrected? Yes it is inherent with K bikes, but only a few seem to realize the importance of modifying the frame in this area to correct it. It is easily done with good welding and fabrication skills. The details on this build are very nicely done, but you have got to get the basics right too. The profile and the practical rear tire clearance are important basics.
