From the video collection of Dan "James Bond" Colyer I present the full program from August 8th, 1981 at Raceway Park in Blue Island, IL. The was Mid Season Championship night with Late Model, Sportsman and Hobby Stocks all running. The card ends with Spectator Drags.
The headliner of the evening was a 75 lap Late Model feature which had a chaotic Raceway Park finish and a surprise winner. Late Models in attendance this night include Bob Weltmeyer, Pat Echlin, Jerry Kemperman, Don Verkinder, James Bond, Stash Kullman, Leo Mens, Dave Weltmeyer, Wayne Kullman, Bob Dotter, Woody Pool, Dennis James, Pete Del Cotto and Ray Young in one of his final appearances ever at Raceway Park. Dan Odell from Grundy County Speedway is also there.
In the Sportsman class, the season long battle between Jake Oudshourn and Terry Laxton finally explodes with Jake being sent into the first turn wall and showing his displeasure with thrown fists and helmet on track.

Oh the memories! Grew up at Raceway just about every weekend! Learned my colors & numbers from being at Raceway as a kid. My Grandpa was part owner for a short while back in the day (sort of the non-silent partner) Joe Uzelac. Great times! Johnny McPartlin in his black #10 was always my fav, while my sister loved Jerry Kemperman in his #6, and my mom was a Bud Kahler person in that red #7.

Worked with Terry Laxton later on at Navistar in Melrose Park. He passed away about 3 years ago.
