I just learned from Rachel that her forthcoming book will have a chapter on the former Chestnut Lodge, a humane psychiatric hospital in Rockville, Maryland for "treatment-resistant" patients. It was a victim of managed care, and a shift in psychiatry to an excessively biological model of treatment.
