Hi! Thanks so much for sharing Rachel's Zomby Woof video! This is her mom, Jeanie. I'm the one behind the camera. I wanted to clear up a few things regarding the making of this video and about Rachel. First - the video was originally shot as a livestream kzbin.info/www/bejne/j2i0pGhslMmpns0si=Wzk4L-nyNRTDfEHR which ran for about 2 1/2 hours while Rachel played each instrument separately, one after the other. The drums aren't pre-recorded - you can see her playing the drums on the keyboard, straight through from start to finish during the livestream. It was a real marathon session! After the live stream, Robert Minsk took the raw video and edited it together to make the version you shared. Rachel was born 15 weeks premature weighing only 1 lb 5 ounces at birth. At 3 months old, just when she was about to be released from the NICU to come home, she was diagnosed with Retinopathy of Prematurity and that is what took her eyesight. While she may have had some sight as an infant, she has no memory of sight. Hasn't stopped her though! ~ Jeanie Flowers

Thank you for sharing this info, you must be very proud of your amazing daughter. My personal favorite is her rendition of the Emerson piano concerto no. 1 for piano and flute. I always wondered if Rachel has perfect pitch or merely a highly developed ear for music? She's sooo good!

Hello Mrs Flowers. I selected this song for reaction as I wanted more people to know what an incredible daughter you have. Credit to her and to you too and hope this reaction brings her skills and abilities to a wider audience. Thank you so much for the background and info you've shared with everyone. I've been a "fan" ever since I saw and heard her do "Trilogy" well over a decade ago. Good luck to both of you for the future🙂💌

Thank you so so much Jeanie, for sharing your inspiring and amazing story about your beautiful daughter and what it took to create this rockin cover. We think her dedication to this project not only honors Frank, but also proves that she is a winner! She’s a wonderful gift to music and we thank you again for bringing her into the world. Our best wishes and vibes to you, Rachel and yours!

Blind from birth, multi-instrumentalist Rachel became known for her spot-on keyboard renditions of Emerson, Lake and Palmer songs. She became friends with Emerson, and he would let her check out his modified synths before they were shipped to him. There is a video of her playing Debussy and Brubeck for Ray Charles when she was 10, jamming on flute with Thijs Van Leer of Focus, jamming with Zappa Plays Zappa, playing a Jaco Pastorius piece on the bass, and a lot of other keyboard pieces on her website. Just amazing. Maybe this song ended when it did because of where the lyrics go next ("doing it to you on the roof").

Damn good, bravo Rachel! Even the guitar solo was so zappaesque, reminiscent of Frank's tone, applying very closely also that Bulgarian bagpipe technique that FZ developed

This is Robert the person that edited together the video. I had asked Rachel to do a live stream on Facebook to show how she uses assistive technology to do her recordings. I wanted her to do about 15 minutes of streaming. Much to my and Rachel’s mom surprise she went about two and a half hours and recorded Zomby Woof while interacting with the fans online. I actually had to leave about half way through for my daughter’s piano recital. I downloaded the video and Rachel sent me a mixed down version of the audio that night. The lower right corner of the video is her performing drums on the keyboard. She finger drums all her drum parts live. Jeanie, Rachel’s mom, posted the live stream in another comment.

Great info Robert. Never realised she did the "drums" too 🙂. You're a lucky guy to have worked with her. Tell me, is she as humble, grounded and sweet as she always appears to be on YT?

Hey Robert! Thanks so much for sharing that. What an awesome outcome. We really love this video and are grateful for your contribution to it❤️.

Rachel has been totally blind since she was 6 months old which makes this even more impressive. An awesome lady. Keyboards are probably here strongest instruments but pretty damn good all around. First noticed her many years ago doing a cover of ELP's Trilogy..amazing She's done a few live things with Dweezil too. was my original pick so glad it got through so that others can witness this brilliant young lady good reaction guys🙂

Great pick Paul. This is the first time I've heard Rachel. She's gifted, no doubt. That was a SMOKIN' rendition of Zomby Woof! Incredible back story too.

Love her. She did a podcast for me for some home bound kids in the depth of the pandemic. She and her mom are both beautiful.

I was impressed at her guitar work when it got to the R&B backbeat instrumental part of the song. It did sound like something Frank would be happy with as far as an improv, without trying to be a note for note copy of the studio version. The only thing missing was the wa-wa pedal, other than that, it was definitely a fun rendition / cover.

Her ELP work redo’s are freaking amazing. She impresses me more than Keith Emerson. Trust me watch Tarkus and any by her keyboards
