When you think about it, although Chandler is known as the snarky one of the gang, the rest of the characters (apart from maybe Joey) would be extremely snarky on any other show. It's just hard to notice because 90% of Chandler's dialogue is snark, while the rest manage a weak 70%.

Everyone was a hypocrite in their own way: -Phoebe was the WORST, wanting everyone to respect her ideals but bashed on anyone who didn't live that way and sometimes didn't follow them herself (refusing Rachel a free massage, playing in front of Monica's work) -Chandler made fun of Joey allowing Janine to girlify their apartment when he allows himself to submit to Monica's wants and has his own tendencies like listening to musicals. -Ross never trusted Rachel to take care of herself around Mark but expected Emily to trust him around Rachel for for Rachel to trust him when he was hanging out with a stripper and was warned about Jill's advances. -Monica would chide Chandler when he flirts or at the idea of having an affair when she herself flirts, sometimes in front of Chandler, and compares him to Richard. -Joey got mad at Chandler for messing with his sister when he himself messes with a lot of women.

- Definitely agree with Phoebe. No arguments there. - Chandler was pointing out that Janine was changing Joey's personality and his own apartment since SHE moved in, not like how Chandler moved into the apartment that MONICA owned (well, her aunt or grandmother owned). And whilst, yes, there are times when Chandler should've stood his ground, in the end, the things he did was making small sacrifices for his girlfriend/wife, not changing his entire lifestyle and personality. And what does liking musicals have to do with "girlifying" anything? - It wasn't that Ross didn't trust Rachel at that point. It was that he didn't trust MARK and he was right to be, since Mark swooped in the instant he saw an opening. The stripper, yeah I agree, but the difference between Mark and Emily was that Emily (the new girl) was trying to force a wedge between him and someone he'd known for longer than Emily, whereas Mark was the new guy that Ross was warning Rachel that he was trying to get with her. - Yeah, Monica did have a bad habit of doing that, but fortunately she got better by the end of the series. - Joey didn't get mad at Chandler for messing with his sister. He got mad when Chandler couldn't remember WHICH sister it was. He even mentioned that when it comes to dating family of friends, "Sisters are okay, maybe a hot aunt, but never a mom", implying that he doesn't mind his friends dating one of his sisters, just that they should be able to remember WHICH sister.

It was more than that. He also made fun of Joey for liking a bag and besides submitting to Monica, he himself has shown he's into things usually meant for women like musicals and eyebrow waxing. Being accused of being gay so many times, he really shouldn't pick on Joey who has shown time and again that he is tough. Mark was one person and honestly, you'd be a weird guy if you didn't like a girl like Rachel. Rachel can take care of herself. Even when she did date Mark, she couldn't force herself to be with him. Joey was mad that Chandler did that even before he couldn't remember. @@TheAwkwardGamer

@@lordalessan First off, with that bag scenario, it was actually ROSS who made the first joke about Joey liking the purse. The only thing Chandler said to make fun of Joey about it was the next day, saying that the bag might help him pick up the part and a man. That was the extent of the teasing on his end. And, again, liking musicals is NOT a feminine thing to do, unless you're calling Hugh Jackman and Antonio Banderas (two men who have been icons of masculinity in their careers) feminine, since both of them love musicals and, in fact, got their starts in the entertainment business THROUGH musicals. Secondly, I guess by your inane standards, I'm a weird guy since I don't like girls like Rachel, especially since she's openly spoiled/selfish and vengeful. This isn't even about looks (though to be fair, she's not attractive to me), but her personality easily makes her someone I wouldn't consider for a relationship, even less so if I (like Mark did) found out she was already in a relationship. Ross was eventually proven right when Mark and Rachel ended up dating when they broke up (it doesn't matter if Rachel couldn't "force" herself to be with Mark, she still went out with Mark knowing full well that Ross warned her about him well before anything even sparked between them). And finally, if you actually watch the clip where Joey finds out about Chandler fooling around with Mary Angela (Joey's sister), you'll find that he was ACTING mad just to see if Chandler was being genuine about potentially falling in love with his sister or just getting over Janice. The instant Chandler (his best friend) told him that he might fall for her, he was ecstatic, meaning he doesn't mind his friends dating his sisters, just that they shouldn't be hooking up with them just to get over a bad breakup: kzbin.info/www/bejne/amTYqKd6hd6VrJY.

Not only she had relationship with Tag that was totally wrong, because she was Tag's boss and way, way older than him but she treated him like a piece of meat and looked at his a** specifically in a few scenes. Yet here she is, lying like always, and blaming others for the same. The worst character on the show by a mile.

Everyone in the cast dabbled in some devious acts or hypocrisy, don't know why Rachel is singled out in particular. I guess we're used to identifying popular girls as the villain in other media, so her superficiality, wanting attention and occasional hypocrisy is treated like the coming of antichrist. And acts of kindness (helped Joey get job back from Gunther), care to detail not only to looks but friends too (only one to remember Chandler's birthday), being a very caring mother to Emma is often overlooked. Rachel has her flaws, but she doesn't deserve this constant bashing.
