It's all about the angle with them blue shears you bought. When they get hung up raise and lower your hand and when they take off again there's your angle. I've owned a pair for years. Once you figure them out you will be surprised how sharp of a curve you can make.

A solution you could look at for a body tool to roll/fold the lip over. If you go over to the petty garage you tube, they restored one of the kings pontiacs. The guy doing the body, had a simple block of aluminum, with a 1/2 - 3/4 in cut into it, and used it to work the lip over for a smooth edge. Hope that kinda helps. Like your videos, learning lots. We always used a solution from the graphics company to spray on first then apply the decals and work the air out and then spray it on the paper to release the outside paper without moving the graphics

The boy that I helped the had a stroke had a pair of pliers that he had welded a stop on the for Dept and just start rolling that edge in ! Do as you wish but I think that the plastic would look better behind your metal ?

I agree, It does look good with just that thin square channel showing but we were wanting a bright bottom line to help make up for how dark the side was to help with visibility. I think if we had a lighter color background that was more visible I would have went behind.

We wanted the wide trim because without it, it is too much black and it needed something to create some visibility. created good contrast and hopefully keeps us from getting run over as easily on a poorly lit track

Those skirts go up and under the body not on the outside.. They look way better up and under all that should be sticking out is the lip of the skirt..And as a graphic designer ...Use a spray bottle with a couple drops of soapy dish soap water to spray under your graphics before applying if you dont know how to do it. Then when you push it out with your squeegy the will lay perfectly flat and they will dry and be perfect

Thanks for the tip on the vinyl Albert. Those skirts go either way and however you want. We thought it would be too dark and needed the color and decided to show the wide trim in the color scheme. Its a preference. I've done both and if the colors were brighter and I thought it would be visible on a dim lit track I would have went behind for sure. The top of that skirt is a rolled lip just so it can lay down flat over the outside like what we did. My new car will be orange sheet metal and we will very likely put them behind on that one.
