This Y2K is just a low budget production that should have been direct to streaming so isn't really a 💣 as it was never meant to be a cinema release. A24 productions are typically low budget streaming movies so any cinema box office is just gravy. It's hard to see how Snow White can 💣 though as it's so iconic. Mr. H, Zegler was the replacement star for Jenna Ortega who couldn't star in Y2K due to scheduling conflict (Jenna got the role in late 2022 / January-February 2023, but the movie would be shot in mid 2023 and she had another project to shot at the time a.k.a. Beetlejuice 2). So, Hollywood executives and KK parade her into the smaller studios in Hollywood, including A24 and they decided to hire her as replacement (connection and all). As a proof of this connection, there was a fashion event where KK was literally accompanying Zegler in 2023, proofing they were already readying her for future Hollywood projects using their connection. Edit: Of course this was before Zegler opened her mouth further and condemned her career 😂

The reason that Rachel Zegler has gotten this far is one reason Steven Spielberg tapped her to play in the reboot West side story and it failed. Disney decided to give her a chance and then she opened her mouth again and again and again and again and again and again and again. Millers Girl starring Jenna Ortega, an admittedly divisive film (I liked it btw), that cost 4 million to make only made about 1.7 million at the global office, a flop for sure BUUUUT there's a caveat. It only debuted is 54 theaters domestically earning $321,000. If you multiply those earnings by the number of screens Y2K appeared on, which was close to 2000, Millers Girl could have made upwards of 13 million dollars, which begs the question why on earth did Y2k get 2000 screens and Millers Girl got 54 when Millers Girl has arguably a real break through super star in it?

For the duration of production and 3 months after release the films stars and crew cannot make public comments based on personal beliefs, politics, religion etc and must remain neutral on all points to maintain a calm family friendly environment safe for kids. This constant war on all things is insane. So glad my little great nieces and nephews aren't allowed to see and hear all this woke bs.
