On a Independent film it should account for 20 to 30% of your budget. This cost includes travel and event cost for Premier's as well as ad buys and promotional material. Who paid for the Cannes Festival Premier? The marketing budget. To find this mystery number from the studio. Look to find their insurance cost for the production.

This situation is absolutely amazing in itself, but my personal favourite thing about Black Mermaid is the fact that its budget is pretty close to the budget of Avatar 2, which includes some episodes that were shot in advance for the next Avatar films, so the budget of Avatar 2 alone is more or less equal to the budget of Mermaid. And that is enough for me to hate the Mermaid movie - Avatar 2 was something new and amazing, even though the script had a lot of sources of inspiration, the visuals were nothing less than a revolution. And what was the Mermaid? A frame-by-frame copy of the original with a small number of improvements and a large number of additions that made it worse than the original. Not to mention that the visual part of the Mermaid is not even close to the level of the first Avatar, not to mention the second. So why the hell the Mermaid was even made if they could've just give this mountain of money to make a few original titles? Or adaptations of some IP that was never adapted for the big screen? There is millions of unadapted books out there!

If Snow White remake bombs worse at the box office, Elio, Toy Story 5, Incredibles 3 and all of the upcoming Disney movies would flop worse. And Disney would sell 20th Century Studios, Marvel and Pixar to News Corporation and 20th Century Studios would rename back into 20th Century Fox.
