Rachel was a great discovery! Can’t believe this is her 1st feature film. She’s so charismatic and eloquent in interviews, too. Ariana DeBose shines in every scene she’s in. Amazing movie!

I really loved the scene with Tony and the Jets with the holes in the floor and the gun, fantastic sharp and terrifying all at the same time. I hope they get so many awards for this performance.

Rachel has the most beautiful voice. Mike Faist is so talented and much better looking in real life than he is in this film. And I see a grownup David Alvarez and I feel so old. I remember when he was a cute and fiercely talented little Billy Elliot on Broadway not to mention a budding ballet dancer competing in YAGP.

It was a fantastic retelling of a beloved musical! Ansel and Rachel were heart wrenching and wonderful together as well as the supporting characters. Of course, Rita Moreno was amazing too!

What do you mean it doesn't matter if you speak the language or eat the food? What is culture to you? just a skin color? latino is not a race, it is a culture, of course our language and our food matters. We get all of these american people with absolutely no respect for our culture pretend to be latino and everyone claps while no one acknowledges how they are appropriating our culture. Why do you respect native american culture, indian culture, but not all of the different cultures that make latin america? why do you think you can just pretend? This is terrible and honestly I'm surprised people are not pointing it out.

Ariana DeBose caught my heart with her dancing and passion. Rachel is a doll and sings like an angel. The guys were perfect as both menacing and empathetic. The thing I admire most is the "kids" playing their icons, and giving it a totally fresh interpretation. Remember ow many people said, you can't re-film WSS.

Rachel no es latina, y si, importa si hablas el lenguaje y comes la comida latina. Ser latina es justamente haberte criado con creencias y tradiciones de algún país de latinoamérica. Ella nunca va a saber lo que es ser juzgado por ser de latino, su opinión siempre va a ser "más importante" para el mundo por el simple hecho de donde nació y su cultura estadounidense.

This is definitely the best version! The way they've added bits to the story to make more sense of it like Tony going to jail, and having gone out with Graziella who's now Riff's girl

I hate the negative reviews ansel elgort is getting he was great in the role and I feel honestly that critics are being smug and over analyzing his performance because he is the most high profiled among the cast
