Wow if you're moving permanently, that's definitely a huge change! I'm not too sure what your level of Korean is or your citizenship situation, but I'd get all your ID, work/study visa, and bank account stuff sorted out as soon as you get here! There's going to be a processing time for those, so it's best to get them done as soon as possible!

hi just wondering, does the fourteen day quarantine begin the day you land in Korea and go to your government facility, or does it start on the next, first full day?
@rachel_cha14 жыл бұрын
I believe it starts when you begin! But they'll usually let you out at noon or midnight, depending on around what time you land.
@cheriat24394 жыл бұрын
How were you able to stay at a non-government facility? Did you book one of these covid-19 taxis which brings you to your quarantine place? Since I will be in South Korea soon to study abroad and therefore am allowed to quarantine at an Airbnb instead of a facility of the government I am not too sure how the process will be
@rachel_cha14 жыл бұрын
Yes I booked a covid-19 taxi! As long as you're able to be contacted through phone, you may be able to stay at an Airbnb. However I'd recommend a government facility if you're starting fresh in Korea just because you may not be able to have basic utilities set up (contact info, bank, etc.)
@TheNujabess4 жыл бұрын

I'm moving back to Korea soon. If I have my own apartment set up before I move to Korea then can I quarantine in my apartment or do I have to use an apartment specifically for covid-19 quarantine? I know my friend's were able to quarantine in their apartments because they lived alone but I didn't know if the rules changed.
@rachel_cha14 жыл бұрын
You should probably double-check with the regulations but if you're able to quarantine in your own empty space, they'll probably let you use your own apartment!
@jefflevenhagen4 жыл бұрын
I had a friend tell me this morning that I have too quarantine in Seoul if I'm going to be living in Busan. That makes sense so I'm not traveling around Korea trying too get to Busan. Greetings! Long story short, my occupation allows me to work just about anywhere & I've always wanted to experience Korea while I'm young & able. I just don't know how to go about it and began getting realistic about my move as of early May. I've narrowed it down to Seoul & Busan, but I'm open to other cities. I'm a young professional in my 20s & I'm just trying to gather as much information so I can take the appropriate steps to make this move possible by the end of the year God willing. Also, what's the current state in the country? As far as C-19 goes. Any feedback would be highly appreciated! Tysm for reading up to here! Hope to hear from somebody out there.

So I’m a dual citizen .... and I’m going to Korea next month. But I don’t have any relatives I can stay with. How did you get to bypass going to a one room instead of the government facility? What papers do I need?? Thanks for uploading! Been watching a lot of quarantine videos. Haha
@rachel_cha14 жыл бұрын
If you have a one room all set up for you then you'll be able to be taken there from the airport by a special taxi! Every country has different rules so I suggest you ask the Korea consulate in your country
@graceh48304 жыл бұрын
@@rachel_cha1 thanks for replying!! How much did you pay for the taxi to get to your place? If you don’t mind. :) do you have any tips on how to move big money like $5-$10k at a time Korea to America? Or can you make a video on that?!?! Hehe
@rachel_cha14 жыл бұрын
@@graceh4830 I think I paid around $50-75 dollars for the taxi! That was also because it was a special COVID-19 taxi. With moving big money, there's global e-transfers, but you might lose some money with conversion costs

I'd definitely look into it more instead of just listening to my words, but I think you can maybe quarantine in one room while your family avoids that room.
