Heya Amadelys! I have natural gold-blonde-ish hair and it becomes very light closer to the end. Like a natural ombre highlight. It bleaches because it's been exposed to sun and it's more damaged and dry in the ends. Totally normal! :)

If done properly Japanese straightening is a great thing . I have been doing it for 12 years plus . I use no heat of a blow dryer or straight iron . I personally love it as it’s a wash and go and saves sooo much time. I only get touch ups every 9-12 months
@PapayaStyle
@PapayaStyle 6 жыл бұрын
question, is that something that's only doable on slightly waved hair? or can you even get real long curly hair straight with this perm? never saw or heard of this before, and not sure if my hair would accept this straightening ^^
@appymay8702
@appymay8702 6 жыл бұрын
PapayaStyle It would work. If you watched the video when Rachel gets it the first time, they speak about how there are chemical reactions, loosening bonds, straightening them, locking that in. But if your hair is *extremely* frizzy/curly then you might need to do a touch up at the roots once every month or so because your natural hair grows out. edit: So it seems I might be thinking of a different permanent hair straightening process. Japanese hair straightening is suitable for "hair that wasn't treated with chemicals before; bulky, loose to medium curls" src: Wikipedia

If you're new to using dry shampoo I've got a few tips for you. Do your dry shampoo the night before. Part your hair multiple times to make sure you're not just spraying the top of your head. If you do it the night before without brushing it out it gives the dry shampoo times to soak up the oil and by the morning the whiteness is gone.

Forgot to add, if you find you have too much product in then you can either reduce it by brushing it out or using a hair dryer to blow it off. Good Luck! It took me a few years before I realised how to actually use the product properly.

Where in Japan do you buy dry shampoo? I only found the powder at lush (which gets everywhere) and one from Shiseido, but it doesn't work (I feel like it's only for smell like hair mist). Japanese always have perfect hair, it's really hard to keep up without dry shampoo^^

Your hair is so pretty Rachel. But I do understand frizzy hair. Here in Dubai my hair gets frizzy all the time and it’s impossible to look nice and smooth😭. Yes, I'm pretty sure it damages the hair! Hence it feeling drier and sometimes crimping in weird ways lol. But to me it's worth it. Probably the same for people who dye their hair a lot, I guess?
@thebookreader6934
@thebookreader6934 6 жыл бұрын
Honestly straightening your hair every day with a flat iron is probably more damaging in the long run. My sister straightened her hair every day in high school, but had to stop because it thinned her hair and it was breaking off.
@rosebonnie7444
@rosebonnie7444 6 жыл бұрын
Straightening your hair does damage it, but the severity of damage depends on your natural hair texture and how many chemical services you've had done to your hair (Haircolor, bleach). In cases with a permanent hair straightening or other chemical services it's always best to schedule a consultation beforehand. So the stylist knows the history of your hair and the possible effects, positive or negative, in your hair. Most places in the US will give a free consultation. I can't speak for other countries. P.S. sorry this comment is so long. I hope I answered your question.

My hair grows really fast, too. I have heavy, thick, Spanish curls, and I just had my stylist buzz the underneath to get rid of some of the bulk, it's already grown out. Bangs, too, are so frustrating when your hair grows fast... and you have to use a flat iron to straighten them. Too short and they stick straight out, too long, and they cover my eyes. Lol. Seriously, this girl has the hair of my dreams.

I've always wanted my hair to be this color naturally, ever since I was a kid! Maybe I should try having it dyed this color, just to have tried it at least. I've dyed it other colors but I thought dyed red hair will never look the same as natural red hair... But it might still be fun!

Just saw Brad Mondo do a reaction video on your straightening treatment. I was wondering how it looked after some time and what the upkeep was like so I looked you up. Your hair is just gorgeous by the way, Oh how does curling it go does it hold a curl and do you ever curl it?

I'm also curious to know how well curling works after a permanent straightening. Both with a hot iron and rollers ;o

sorry for the late reply but - i permanently straightened my hair last january, and i've tried curling it with a curling iron around 2-3 times. for me, i need to hold small sections of my hair on the curling iron for a really long time (~45 seconds) for it to even be able to curl. after that, it stays curly for like 12 hours, and gradually, over the course of like 3 days, it flattens out but not to the point where it's completely straight - there's still a bit of volume/texture in it. i dont normally use a curling iron though, since ive found that it has damaged my hair even more than it already is (it gets super dry and some parts of my hair have a weird texture). hope this helps :)

I love the straight look. I had the same humidity problem when I visited Japan. I feel like none of my pictures turned out good because of my frizzy hair. I will get a straightener next time I’m in Japan. Thank you for the video!! 🌟✨‼️

I'm glad it worked out for u. My friend and I watched your previous video on your hair and decided to go to nalu hair salon and intended to get our hair chemically straightened too by yoshiyatsu iijima. Unfortunately due to the chemicals used, iijima's lack of care and attention and double booking us he put our hair and health at risk and therefore he chemically burnt our hair and scalp and we are left with severe burns and hair so damaged it can't be repaired or grown back for life. We are completely traumatised by our scary experience and hope that people will see this comment and understand the risks of Japanese hair straightening going wrong even with extensive research. Iijima did not do anything to accommodate or help with the damage and from being a foreigner friendly salon, after the damage was done, miraculously no one knew how to speak English anymore! I later found out that we were not the only ones this has happened to and this salon doesn't take responsibility of their actions/botched job. We are deeply scarred, hurt and highly disappointed with our entire experience and will never recommend Nalu 76 hair salon to anyone! :(

Wow Lilaaa I am so sorry this happened to you and your friend. I knew someone who also got chemical burns in her hair but after a year her hair was completely fine. I do not know if she used specific treatmets or something like that but I know that she had to go to the hospital due to its negative reaction. I have to thank you for your comment because I am always searching for ways for completely straightening my hair and after I saw her video I was really hopeful about her results. But now, thanks to you, I also know the risks of doing this in a foreign country and I can feel how my previous desire to go to Nalu 76 has diminished, I think I will continue to go to my salon where once a year I do a Keratin or Brazillian straightening. I have to mention that if you want to do something like that, you have to go to people who really know what they are doing and also who care for your hair. I am from Barcelona and luckily, I have this salon near home. Lilaaa I really hope that your actual situation improves. The only thing i can say is that the girl I know was able to recuperate her hair after a year. So with care and a lot of patience you will be able to see some results. I am really sorry this happened to you. The owner of the salon should have done something! Have you thought in reporting him or the salon?

@Lilaaa question did you and your friend have color in your hair? And if so was it bleached when you got the color?
@sugarplum2467

@@Orihime15bleach Pointless question because the hairdresser should have asked and refused to do the treatment if the answers were yes. A professional can tell if hair is colored or bleached, anyway.

Omg! I totally understand how you feel about having super frizzy hair, but then looking around at everyone else with their perfectly straight and pristine looking hair! I have curly hair that frizzes very easily too, but I also, unfortunately, have very thin hair, so I don't think I can get the straight perm...but having the perm would be such a life-saver and help me to not be as self-conscious about my hair. Also, again, it was really nice meeting you in Omotesando! I can't believe I got to see your hair right after you got it done! It looked amazing in person, and even in this video, a week later, it still looks fabulous! (Maybe I should just get the straight perm for myself too....decisions...)

I went to their website to check the price and it starts at US$128 plus tax, and goes up to $182 for long hair like hers. It's US$300+ near me too (includes haircut). A great example of Economics 101 perhaps.
