First off, I love your creation. I also love your cat room idea. Very clever. I use a similar liter, mine is kiln dried pine pellets. I use a sifting litter box with several layers so that when my cat urinates and the pellets turn to saw dust it falls to the bottom pan. I can also sift the trop tray and help the liter fall to the lower pan if there is a clump of sawdust. Often times urine goes straight to the bottom tray and gets absorbed by already fallen sawdust. It is the best litter ever!! If I used a regular liter box I would have a difficult time getting ride of the dirty sawdust. Thanks for sharing ❤

Omg I LOOOOOOVE this litter box! AND their beautiful poop room! 😂😂 we use wood pellets for our cats too, and I will NEVER go back to using regular litter. We use a system with two litter boxes. The top one has slats in the bottom for the sawdust to fall through, and the bottom box has a bag that catches all the pee and sawdust. It works AMAZINGLY! I wonder if that type of system could somehow be implemented into this gorgeous house… 🤔 either way, you’ve inspired me to think of new and creative ways to beautify a poop box! 😃😂

Not sure if anyone else pointed it out, but the cool wood pattern in those three wood pieces your grandpa gave you is is called spaulted wood. It's caused by fungi! As someone whose grandpa gifted her a giant piece of petrified wood from his property a year before he passed, I lived seeing the wood and fossils. I was also my grandpa's favourite and miss him much. Hope your grandpa has many more healthy years!

This is awesome! I may try to do this with your design, but I think I will replace the actual litter box with something 1 peice, that does not have the sharp angular corners.

Really nice job. I have a couple of hints as an architect who’s built a ton of large building models. Use less glue. One strip down the middle will spread to the right depth once you clamp it. And use tack mats on the steps and path to the door. We use them on construction sites in buildings to prevent debris tracking. It should cut down the sawdust a lot since it’s stuck to those fuzzy paws. I love the Japanese saws! I wish I’d seen those in my school days. Great use of magnets.

How about a six foot litter box with spiral stairs leading into it and spiral stairs leading out of it with a excavation door about a foot up so you can clean it? I can hear the cats now; 'Raaannn Raaaannn. Let me out.'
