Adriana Santana The really stupid thing is that basic hair ties(that pack that’s with the other impulse buy stuff at most cash registers) are usually black or a mix of neutrals! It makes ZERO sense that the ‘manly’ hair ties are all pretty patterns instead of basic colors. Those are more traditionally ‘girly’ looking than any that I own! And only 4?! Those will be gone in a week😆

After seeing the hair tie part, I had to look it up to understand why it was a hair tie for guys. What I found was that the guys who created it saw what was available only in the womens sections and weren't satisfied with not only all the stereotypical coloring, but also the quality as well. So their purpose was to create the best hair tie out there, not just one meant for men, just better quality as well as cooler patterns. They specifically said in their video that women will love it as well. Honestly hating on them for making less feminine hair ties I think it kinda stupid, because part of the problem is that hair ties from other companies only really make stereotypically girly ones. I think the hair ties for guys naming is really just for rhyming and making them able to found more by the market of guys that are currently looking for hair ties with cooler patterns. But as girl who doesnt care for pink and sparkles I appreciate someone making a superior hair tie with more variety of prints. Finally, purchasing the pack is actually a good thing because they donate a dollar for every pack sold to locks of love. So I guess it's just a lesson on doing more research overall? I just always like to believe there is a reason for things.

Jordan donato I only own neutral hair ties. Most of them are this same exact material and super stretchy and comfortable. All of them came from Walmart. I do think this is aimed at guys that just feel more comfortable buying things marketed to guys. His product blurb probably covers all the bases so people don’t get mad like they are here. People will also get them for jokey reasons like this video. He likely understands how ironic purchasing works. Marketing like this happens for a reason. It works🤷‍♀️

I feel like my point is being missed a little. I feel that the company doesnt deserve to be bashed. They actually do a lot of charity work and their goal was not to create hair ties that women aren't allowed to use. It was simply to create better performing hair ties with cooler patterns cause all the ones at the store are either plain or frilly. The name is just the name and it's just marketing. It would be different if all their hair ties were "manly patterns" but they are not. There are plenty of "girly" colors too. Catering to everyone. It is annoying that there are some men who will only use a product labeled for them. I just dont think it's right to say that supporting this company is a problem when they not only donate money per pack to charity, but work with multiple others as well.
