Ken would be a great parenting teacher. He's so right on what he says. I think the word "no" is only a complete sentence if you are talking to friends, co-workers, or extended family. But you have to respect your kids more than that and let them challenge why cause will let them know that their feelings are taken in account and it gives them a chance to have some critical thinking thoughts as well. That's how they learn. Love this video.

I appreciate this dialog between Ken and Rachel. Love this! Ken has a great perspective that makes you honestly think about a different approach to make listeners dig deeper. All the Ramsey personalities are awesome at their gifts. However, Ken always blows up my perspective. When I "think" I'm doing okay I find more personal growth in career or family life that I can do better. Thank you!!

There was nothing more freeing than being completely honest with our kids about the mistakes we made and having them be part of our debt free journey. They learned so much more by watching us dig out of a mess and come out stable and thriving . It’s been an amazing journey !

It’s essential that you let your kids see your money mistakes and struggles. If you don’t, history tends to repeat itself.

I have a friend who gave me the advice that I have to learn to love the fallout from disciplining and saying no to my kids. That I have to feel the satisfaction of good parenting even in the face of upsetting my kids. Too many parents, myself included, feel awful upsetting our kids, but sometimes it’s for their own good. So I love Ken’s advice to explain the “no” and just agree with your child’s backlash but stay firm on the “no.”

There's also those parents who never heard money discussions so they never learned to discuss money and have no clue how to broach the subject with their children.

Setup your kids’ online accounts and enable parenting (and payment) controls. I know it can seem tricky, but Google how to do these things and there’s always a parent’s setup guide.

Our son did the same thing on Fortnite- we made him pay us back and he now really appreciates his money. To the point that he bought his own nerf gun and bullets at Target and wouldn’t let others shoot it without picking up each bullet cause they cost money!

No is a complete sentence when you have already explained why, and your child keeps asking you for a different answer. The answer is... No.

I really like your audiobook Love your life not theirs. I can't wait to have your new book. My parents were both working at the City Hall. Whe had so many stuff. Well I thought that we were rich. No we were not. Because they both had two jobs. One thing i never did understand is how can they work so much time with finances but they never said something about it? That's so weird. Your video just generated an email about this question that was in my mind during so many years. I am waiting for an answer...

When my kids asked me "why" it is typically so I can explain myself why is not gonna work, but I still sell my argument 😁 which is tough when I am 33years old and they're teens🤦‍♀️

I love the idea of matching the kids' savings for a car. I never felt good about buying it outright and also didn't want them to have to pay for it themselves. Thanks for sharing

It's ok to be friendly with your kids but you can't be their "friend" as it will blur lines between parent and child. They will always need you as a parent for that feeling of security. Friends come and go

I think Apple lets you make an account 13 years old or older with no bank cards. Give them their own accounts. Or if you link a card open a separate PayPal or bank account and link that card. When they want something they pay and you put the money in so it goes through. If it’s not a purchase you want to let them make, it will decline since they didn’t pay upfront lol. Life can be tough, this can get them to understand to work for what they want. Not an expert. Just some ideas here.

When I have kids, they will not be getting away with anything! They will learn money and will not be getting money just because they mopped the kitchen, they have to get a job and work!
