@mikekohary10754 жыл бұрын
You don't have to practice for hours every day. Set aside 20 minutes a day - yes, only 20 minutes. That adds up fast, and you will improve at a good pace. True, the more time you spend, the faster you'll get better, but many people just don't have an hour or more a day, so some practice time is better than none. The important part is to make it a consistent habit, so even 15-20 minutes a day when done as a habit will get the job done. It also helps immensely to have a good teacher. Have fun and good luck!

@Gravewurm4 жыл бұрын
It's likely a faked progress. The first 3 months are fine, maybe you can think she progressed very fast, but it's still doable. But suddenly her skills skyrocketed after 5 months. That's NOT realistic unless you pour hours and hours of training every single day, sweep picking is really hard to learn, and the sound when she plays is completely clear. That's also unrealistic. And that Ibanez Prestige after 7 months of practice... come on. The video is cool and this girl is really good at playing guitar. But this progress is a total fake.
@Wolfgang_von_Caelid3 жыл бұрын
@@Gravewurm lol wtf are you on about, that 5 month mark was very, very clearly a beginner playing guitar, it was good for the amount of time she had played but not "good" under any stretch of the imagination. And that "sweep picking" was also very clearly someone who has just started learning to sweep, nothing crazy. Anyone who has tried learning to sweep can tell you that sweeping is difficult and it's probably better to begin learning sooner rather than later. As for the Prestige after 7 months; some people earn a good living and can afford nice things, who would have thought? Some people's first guitars cost more than my entire collection. You honestly just come off as really salty.
@SgtS1lky3 жыл бұрын
@@Gravewurm you would be surprised, my first tutor had played guitar over 10 years and within 18 months he told me he can not teach me anything else because now I know more than he does and proceeded to ask me how to do certain things. Its a strange feeling for some people on guitar its hard for me to explain its like it becomes part of some people. Like its not playing the guitar like its a guitar instead it becomes like magic part of me that I can push emotions through
@VicinalElk441043 жыл бұрын
@@Gravewurm okay, I have a prs custom 24 as well as a prs mt15 amp, a prs archon amp, a 4x12 cabinet with 2 v30's and 2 wgs reapers (I like how the 2 speakers sound combined) and a bunch of pedals and shit and I have only just started getting into guitar, so not impossible. You can't have that "she's still new at guitar so there is no way she would own anything better than a Squier strat starting out" mentality just because you had a "beginner" setup for your first year. I personally think that its better to buy a midrange to higher priced guitar and amp setup in the beginning because not only will you likely be more inclined to learn on nicer equipment than "beginner" equipment, but you'll also be more inclined to continue using your setup even after you've advanced to being able to really play. I believe I'd be more inclined to learn if I had a $1k-3k guitar over a Squier or some offbrand guitar with shitty quality control and an overall sub par sound and feel, which is exactly why I decided to go with good stuff with my setup. That's just my opinion though. They're like assholes, everyone has one.

People sharing their learning experience like she was gifted with the ability to play when in reality she just put more work into learning and playing then you. You see it in the first year, her hands go from "virgin" hands to shredding vainy hands. That only comes with thousands of hours of practice time, you have to want to pearn how to play more then anything else to progress like this. She not only blew me away with her ability to learn the guitar like this in 4 years but with her growth in confidence too, she went from hiding her face in every video to smiling and rocking out in videos. Just hold that position for 30 minutes or more, dont even strum. Make your hand get use to holding that shape. You have to think "im going to do this if my fingers bleed and it literally kills me." How's the progress? I started playing as a middle aged dad, and progress is painfully slow compared to children. Between time constraints, other priorities, and older brain syndrome, it just takes time. Totally worth it though. So in 4 years, she just looks the same with no sign of aging? This video is definitely fake and the whole "1st-week footage" was just her current self holding herself back lol. Forged video for some viral goals, but it's sad to know that actual guitar beginners will bite into the lie and think that in one year, they'll sound exactly like "she sounded in one year." To constantly film herself for 4 years straight with the "someone will watch me publicly" demeanor and sign on her face, it's just full bs.

This is the most accessible kind of video to forge, so I'm not surprised that even amateurs can do it out of fame goals and going viral. Pretty understandable. I'm also a piano player; I grew up with it, shoved down my throat by my parents, and just two years ago, I started learning guitar as an adult with my already existing music theory knowledge, practicing 2 hours a day, every day including weekend under my brother's lead (he's teaching guitar). I have depression too. It suddenly hit out of the blue and it felt let my life stopped and everything was gone. I struggle with it all the time and probably always will. But I've decided to just play guitar and piano no matter what and learn. So you and I can help keep eachother motivated. We can do this 😁

As long as it is a good guitar that is setup properly, sounds decent and feels good to play its probably the way you should do it. Having too much stuff is not good and I would have like 2 to 3 guitars just for different tunings.

it’s interesting to see how the genres we play affect the skills we develop. As i’m more into classic rock and blues stuff, I think i add a little more feel to it and have a better vibrato but i defintely can’t play as fast as she does and i’m also not that great at rythym guitar as she is because of metal music

I have trouble with chords.. when I was 21 I got my finger caught in machinery and mangled it pretty good.. it healed well but my underside of that finger is pretty thick now and it's constantly muting strings making chords sound shitty
@sebastianibanez32064 жыл бұрын
Ivar Strange How hard thut must be. Just practice and find a way to enphasise your strengths. I recently cut my finger with a knife,15 days without guitar, just hoping it doesn’t bother my playing after it heals. Cheers bro!

@@ivarstrange6959 I think everybody has something. That is why ypu see people with such "strange" and "odd" picking techniques or ways of playing chords or whatever it may be. We all just have that one thing that makes a roadblock so we all develop this unique way to deal with it and we all come out with unique ways of playing. It is frustrating but when you finally get it, it is cool because you have this way of playing that fits you and nobody else. Mine was I have a messed up pinky from getting hit by a baseball and it made it very difficult to hammer on and pull of with my pinky strong enough but I really worked on it until I've gotten to a point where it is at least effective, still a long way to go though 7 years in

@@ivarstrange6959 Check out Django, Toni Iommi, Rick Allen. I met a one armed bassist once who played pretty damn good just using hammer ons. I guess it's about finding your own style. I've learned harmonica as a backup - just in case!

This is mad inspiring. My grandmother bought me my first guitar a Squier bullet strat. I was around 11 and never really did much with it. Fast forward now (I'm 22) I've decided I wanna take it seriously. I got myself a nice Ibanez for Christmas and I've been practicing ever since. Watching your videos demonstrating your progression taught me one thing. Take it slow, set realistic goals and just have fun with it.
