My sister had the original barbie, I had the round Har barbie. I remember the outfits . I got my first Barbi when I was two. My sister also had the original dream house which I think was the best. Shevalsi ha d that car it was peach colored. .

I'm so sorry my phones auto correct is horrible. It will look fine and then it gets posted and is entirely different from what I wrote. I wanted to mention in my comment about who the first Barbie was suppose to like like...facial features. I couldn't remember her name, but the woman I'm thinking of is Millecent Roger's (I'm sure I spelled that wrong) and I do think that Barbie doll does resemble her. And I think that is Barbie's middle name? She was kind of a Standard oil heiress and Fashion Icon, and later moved to New Mexico and was very into that culture and collected jewelry and art, etc.... in the early days, as you can see, it was not all bright pink, that didn't start until the later 60s and the clothes looked cheaper and kind of tacky, compared to her more couture early days. It was not about the doll it was about the clothes, that probably cost more than the doll, after all Ruth said it was because her daughter liked playing with paper dolls and changing the clothes, most Dolls were baby dolls and so she was trying to recreate a 3D paper doll on a way. I believe the first Barbi car was a Spitfire, which is what Elizabeth Taylor drove in...the one where she was kind of a hooker? I means loved the mid Century Barbie Dream House, made out of printed cardboard along with the furniture. I remember getting the Barbie townhouses and they were all plastic and pink I was not fond of them, and I think the coolness of Barbie changed. I remember having the bubble bouffant Barbie, Midge, twist and turn Barbie, I think a pj...andvthatborhervdoll that you showed that was Tammy's sister. But it's the Barbie Outfits I remember most of all. I got my first Barbie on my 2 year old birthday and I remember the first Barbie dress I got with it. I had a birthday party, remembered many of my gifts and who they were from ;-D So if you think a two year old isn't going to know or remember...think twice ;-D the thing is I still remember:-D. My first dress was the tight-fitting red dress w/ double row gold buttons. I'm jealous when I see these Barbies. :-D

Round hair one called Bubble Cut(?) I had the peach car. It was a Corvette and just loved it. Tires had spoke (?) silver hub caps. Seats were white. That car had lots of miles on it. 😉

Many of them were hand painted, and some are more arched than others.

I dont know if you still see this, But i have a barbie that is paper mache . Shes from the 60s. Has a wedding dress on. She was used at a jewlers to sell rings. She is the same as barbie highth everything. If u know anything about these please let me know. Thank you

My mom had a #1 ..my mom was born in 1950. So, i found them hidden away ang played with them..i thought she had pearl earrings on for some reason. She was VERY white..u remember that and those holes. I stuck crayons bits in her feet..j dont even know what happened to her. I even asked my mom if T.M were her imitials. My mom has passed and i really wish i still had that Barbie. My mom asked me not to play witg her and i snuck anc played with her. I really messed her up. I wouldnt have even sold her.. my mom loved the doll!

HI! It means nothing, it is a product number. The right cheek is the one that matters, the left is a stock number.
