Check on ebay for vintage barbie heads 1960 and they did have the one with close and open eyes for around 20 dollars. I usually find the heads and bodies that are really screwy and i fix them. I found a casey that looked like it was burned or something and she was $3.34 and said unrestorable. Well she looks perfect now but her legs still have black blotches... but i gave her purple red and electric blue hair! And repainted her face but left the factory paint underneath as a guide. She looks so much better.

sounds like the one with the wrist that moves is a living or live action Barbie. Do you know which one with the square on the back is? Maybe a kissing Barbie?

@@BarbieLove I beleive 2 are 1966 marks on lower back.. Made in Taiwan or something? Think one is older & marked on left cheek.. They look pretty all around like nice clothes & looks!! I haven't had luck finding any similar yet.. I don't have them infront of me right now but I'll update you when I get the chance. Kinda wish I could just send pics.. Maybe i can find something on reddit?

@@Dan0rioN one on the butt cheek is for sure a 60’s doll. Taiwan is most likely a 70’s Check out my 1976 superstar video. See if yours is a Superstar face. Only doll from 70s I can think of with a square on the back is the kissing Barbie. 1978. Also do they have straight arms or bent arms?

I just bought a barbie from the thrift store, it says it's a 1966 barbie, but the legs do not bend and the feet have little white rubber ends. Any idea if this is a genuine 1966 body or have parts been replaced

The dolls that say 1966 are not. That is a trade mark for the tnt waist. What is the head?

Hello I have a Barbie marked with a Mattel 1958 stamp behind the neck. Is this original. It’s a solo in the spotlight Barbie. Can I get your feedback . Please and thank you.

Solo in the spot light is a 1994 reproduction. !960's ponytails are marked on the right butt cheek and have Japan written on the bottom of the right foot. If you look inside the dress you should see a Mattel label stating reproduction. Thanks for the question!! Reproduction dolls are gaining in popularity, strangely enough more so out of the box than in the box.

@@BarbieLove how can I send you pics. Of the Barbie. She does have a stamp on her lower back that reads 1958-1993 MATTEL INC. Malaysia. And the dress tag has Barbie 1995 reproduction. Nothing stamp on bottom of the feet or foot

Thanks for the question. All 1960's ponytails were made in Japan. Not marked on lower back. Marked the actual right butt cheek. You have a lovely 1994 Mattel reproduction. I don't know how to send pics. Happy Barbie Hunting.

Somebody’s probably already mentioned this, but I think the tv show Marlo Thomas starred in with Dick VanDyke was called THAT GIRL. 😊 PS. Hi Sue! You talked about the heads being easy to change with some of the Barbies. I was wondering if the Superstar style Barbie heads are easy to interchange with the Superstar bodies and also if the Mod/Dramatic Living Barbie heads and bodies can be easily changed? I have never tried to change one of these types of Barbie’s heads and/or bodies. They don’t look like they would change as easily as the earlier Barbies.

I don’t think the Superstars are as easy to change, they have a plastic connector. This makes them difficult. But not impossible.

There is no neck knob. The connector goes into a hole in the neck and into the head. The old design was so much better.

@@BarbieLove Thank you for explaining! I remember getting the Superstar Barbie when she first came out. I got her for Christmas. Even though My older sister and I were starting to “outgrow” Barbies, I still put her down on my Christmas list. (.When I say that we were starting to outgrow Barbies, that was really more in my parents estimation rather than my own viewpoint. Because even though I am in my mid fifties, I still haven’t outgrown Barbies.) I am pretty sure I also got the new Ballerina Barbie too. I always thought that Ballerina Barbie had the prettiest face. I wish the crown would have been removable. I am the person that commented about a skirt that you got in with some other Barbie clothes. In the video you said something along the lines that you thought it wasn’t a real Barbie item. ( I don’t remember the actual words that you said.). But it was a medium blue skirt with black velvet around the waist. My sister and I used to have that and I was pretty sure it was a real Barbie item that had a white top that went with it. I looked it up online and it was from a Barbie Pak. It was called, Terrific Twosome. It was with a white sleeveless top. (The top was a thick cotton material.). It came out in 1969. (I have seen the skirt go for a pretty penny on EBay ). I hope that helps you! 🙂
