Why are you all surprised? Aren't the audience dignitaries? That's basically how you watch musicals, operas, and orchestral concerts. You don't interrupt while the performance is ongoing. It has nothing to do with upbringing, that's just SOP, so no throwing of shade. In mainstream concerts and tv show performances you can shout and go wild cause it is more participatory.
