Every now and then, I have to revisit this performance. And one thing became clear: When Rachelle opened her mouth to sing, I feel like George was like, "Oh THAT'S how you comin'?!" And from that point on, George was fighting for his life. But he kept up! 😂😂😂 Love them both so much!

I agree that she probably decided to not to be a sell out. there is so much talent out there that we are unaware of due to main stream. Public radio in some states may touch on them. However, there is a need for local, or national independent stations to play the songs yester years. Stations not supported by iHeart, or SIRRIUS, etc. Time for new direction.

How lucky to have met Rachelle in France! in 1992, a fantastic artist and very kind ... With her husband they even gave me their address and their phone! I was then accompanying the wonderful organist Rhoda Scott on drums ... Huge memory full of emotions! What a magnificent concert! Thank you so much !

J'étais devant ma télé pour ce Montreux 91, j'enregistrais en VHS, c'est la cassette que j'ai le plus usé de tous les temps, au point qu'elle couinait et se dégradait toujours plus ! Rachelle Ferrell fut mon amour de jeunesse, à distance évidemment, l'émotion est restée intacte, ainsi que pour ce tendre Toots ! Amour de jeunesse et initiation au jazz, curieusement j'ai commencé par écouter du jazz vocal ! ;-) Puis, pas riche, j'ai acheté deux CD, le CD+ en compagnie de Ray Charles, où il y avait deux petites vidéos (format timbre poste !), et celui avec l'immense Michel Petrucciani, Automn Leaves, un trésor !!!

Oui, pareil, j'enregistrais tous les "concert in montreux" qui passaient (Arte , Onyx (chaine allemande par satellite) et Muzzik (j'ai coupé l'image en haut et bas car c'était filmé en 16/9 donc on voit pas le logo). hélas pour ce morceau la, jet quelques autres (heureusement quasi pour tous, j'ai les fichiers d'origine) 'ai converti la video et je n'ai plus le fichier d'origine Mpeg converti de ma VHS :( (qui est entrelacé) je fais un remaster de tout ces enregistrements que j'ai fait en ce moment, mais sans le fichier d'origine a desentrelacé, on a une grosse perte en qualité d'image, je suis pas sur d'arriver a un bon résultat, on verra bien ! Salutation !! :) !

Abonné direct ! Quels trésors doivent enfermer tous ces Montreux Jazz Festival ! moi je ne faisais qu'entrecouper des extraits, avec des courts métrages et tout un tas de choses en vrac, je jouais avec une fonctionnalité de mon scope qui permettait de caler précisément d'un enregistrement à l'autre, j'adorais ça ! Ça fait 11 ans que je n'écoute plus de jazz à cause de ma chienne ultrasensible des oreilles, elle ne supporte ni le piano ni le sax etc…, j'en réécoute un peu en essayant de faire attention, un jour faudra que j'investisse dans un casque ! ;-)

@@alainhuard5965 l'entrelacement c'est la maniere dont la Tv et le format DVD utilise les images pour gagner de "la bande passante", 2 images étaient transmise en une seule, et donc quand on veut la convertir sur ordinateur (qui utilise le protocole "progressif utilisé par le bluray et une partie de la télevision haute definition aujourd'hui, mais aussi tout internet), beaucoup de gens (moi y compris sur cette video) ne faisait pas une étape importante a l'époque (et que je fais maintenant), qu'on appelle le désentrelacement, qui sépare les 2 images en 2 images distinctes. Hors si on ne fait pas cet étape, on perd beaucoup en qualité d'image. Mais il me reste encore pas mal de "concert in montreux" en qualité d'origine, heureusement. j'ai encore pas mal de VHS, dont certaines que je n'ai jamais pu convertir (format Americain, importé des USA a l'époque) ou mal (en noir et blanc) et j'ai encore un magnétoscope dans le placard (comme un cadavre), mais je n'ai plus mon materiel pour faire la conversation. ça ne coute pas trés cher, il faudrait que je verifie si j'ai bien tout convertis. il me reste encore pas mal de document que je n'ai pas mis sur youtube, certain par exemple, pas possible car youtube les a bloqué. faudra que je re essaye. je souffre d'hypersensibilité auditive aussi... (je ne peux plus faire de la musique ni en ecouter) (j'étais pianiste jazz de profession). Je vais pas dire que je comprends ta chienne (lol), si un peu (beaucoup) en fait, mais oui , un bon casque regle le probleme !

@@Martyprod2 Pour le casque je ne supporte pas d'avoir un fil à la patte, et je voudrais écouter en vaquant à mes occupations, je pense qu'un casque bluetooth tout simple ferait l'affaire ! Des fois que t'aurais une marque à conseiller… Je faisais aussi un peu de musique (très mal, mais j'avais un peu d'oreille, héhé !), clarinette et clavier, qui dorment dans un placard. La clarinette c'est l'horreur pour elle ! Elle hurle et me regarde fixement, comme pour dire "mais pourquoi tu prends du plaisir à me faire souffrir ???" Ah ouais, pour un musicien pro, ça doit être terrible ! mais t'en écoute quand même à travers tes enregistrements !
