My husband and I make “egg muffins” weekly. We switch off doing sausage, bacon or veggie. Super easy if this helps: * 1 egg per muffin * shredded cheese (I use the Mexican blend) * filling of your choice Preheat oven to 350 and spray muffin pan with avocado oil. Put the filling of your choice (I love ground sausage and cheese) in the pan first. Then beat your eggs and divide evenly in the pan. Top with a sprinkle of cheese. Put in the oven for 30 mins and store in the refrigerator for the week. We usually do 12 at a time and eat 2 each meal.

I’m so glad you got your fertility’s results back! I know that it is going to happen for y’all very soon! My husband & I were TTC for over 3 years and last year we went to the doctor & found I had hypothyroidism and that was causing my irregular cycles. My husband was thankfully all good to go! But they checked my ovaries and saw that I had cysts so they said I also had PCOS. But my cycles were finally getting regular! God can do anything! The doctor prescribed me to take Clomid and I got pregnant the first month I took it! God answered our prayers and He will answer yours 🧡

I'm so happy for you guys that you finally have answers!! I worked in OB/Fertility specialist for 15 years and we always suggested low carb too, and I saw Clomid be successful for so many patients! And that is funny about the MTHFR gene (not that you have it OBS), because we used to call it the same thing in our practice too! Will be keeping you both in prayers.

So a low carb game changer: Joseph’s Lavash bread (flatbread) high protein and very low carb and it is GREAT! I make egg wraps in the morning instead of toast. And taco warps are 🔥 with this bread! We slice them in half and they are STILL plenty big. Oh and it’s available at Walmart in the BREAD section! Try it! I know you’ll love it!

Nutritionist here - when you lower your carbs, you'll lose some water weight initially because for every 1g of carb you ingest, you'll store 3g of water. That's why you'll hear when people go keto, they drop a lotttt of water weight at first! Only telling you this because I know you mentioned not wanting to lose too much weight and being afraid to do that, so was hoping this would make you feel better since it's likely just water weight especially over only a period of a couple days! Love your videos! xo

Hi Rachel! Love your videos ❤ While we're not TTC, I also had similar issues with having high LDL cholesterol despite being thin and active two years ago (and also hormonal imbalances). Lower carb/lower sugar/and eating complex carbs literally changed my health in every way and it is honestly really sustainable long term. Happy hormones and happy cholesterol now! I'm sure it will work wonders for you as food really can be medicine in so many ways! You got this❤

I also do Fage 2% (if you like plain greek yogurt, I know it's not everyones fav) and while it does have 5 grams of sugar, it's all natural sugar no added. Just gotta watch out for those added sugars they love to fill the yogurts with. Hands down keeps me fullest longest since it's loaded with protein.

@@rachaelcollyns931 alarmingly high, 190! Considering I have a normal, almost low BMI and have been a runner/fitness freak my whole life lol but my diet was allllllll carbs (was vegetarian for years). As soon as I switched back to a meat eating/healthy fats/low carb/low sugar diet it came down to the 110s and my HDL went up like crazy. Nutrition is such an understated thing, especially when our food is loaded with carbs/sugar!

This is so interesting to hear and I agree but genetics are screwing me too /: I have ldl over 200 at 24 and while my total Cholestrol has come down a bit (still higher 290s) and hdl is good, my weight is great and I’m active and don’t eat many added sugars. I don’t eat a specific low carb/counting diet but I do eat lower carb I’d say. I get scared every day I have hormone issues and don’t even know since I’m on the pill for other health reasons. Oh well 😢

Hi good morning Rachel! Thank you for sharing your experience! Much prayers and love and a heart full of strength to you! On my ttc journey in the beginning I went to doctor I got diagnosed with PCOS and pre diabetes! I was having very irregular menstrual to none! I was placed on provera and metformin. Through my journey I lost over 20 lbs and was feeling the best! And the month I lost hope and (had the least amount of intercource) I found to be pregnant! I literally told my mom 1/26 that I’m losing hope. Next day took a test and was positive! I also stopped testing after my first cycle cause it was too overwhelming and stressful and just gave it to Gods hand! You got this girlie! Looking forward to your journey and when it’s meant to be it will be 💗! You’re the best and take care of you 🫂

Hi Rachel! Dietitian here who specializes in women's health :) Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us- I also love Ritual's prenatal!! I love that eating more nourishing foods is a priority for you. Keep in mind that you definitely don't need to eat low carb, but just including more fiber-rich carbs like brown rice, potatoes, whole wheat bread, oats, etc can all actually help to lower LDL. It doesn't need to be cutting out carbs altogether or even drastically reducing! Just sharing because I know how challenging dietary changes can be :) Sending all the good vibes your way!!

Hi Rachel, I never comment on your videos but just wanted to send you some baby dust! I am bit older (37 now) and currently 22 weeks pregnant with our first baby. I always wanted kids very young but I moved abroad and made life far away from my family so it just didn’t happen as it wasn’t the ‘right time’… But I have to say I am so grateful I got pregnant first month because my sister went through years & years of TTC and was blessed at the end with twins 😍 I have to say it was a shocker when the test turned positive because in my head I thought (and was told by doctor!) it will take at least 12-18 months to get pregnant due to fact we are on the older side to be first time parents…but enough now…wishing you good luck and I have a feeling by summer you’ll be announcing your own amazing news ☺️ And let me tell you girl, pregnancy is a beautiful journey 🥰

Hi Rachel! I'm curious as to why low carb for reducing LDL? Nearly all the evidence based research suggests that incorporating high fiber, whole grains will reduce it. (If you look up "how to lower LDL," oats, barley, and bran are at the top of list!) -from someone with chronically high LDL as result of genetics :)
@rroberts8904
@rroberts8904 Жыл бұрын
I think the reasoning may be that the carbs are being replaced with more fruits & vegetables (which are a great source of soluble fibre - the type of fibre that binds to cholesterol and reduces it's absorption). But you're absolutely correct, oats and barely are also fantastic sources of soluble fibre. This, combined with lean meats and low-fat dairy is a great way to lower LDL cholesterol. Additionally, switching to a plant-based diet, even in the short term, can also help.
@melissadiaz111

Agree. My LDL came back a bit high and my doctor recommended cutting back on processed meat (sausage, bacon, red meat, cheese, and dairy). So while I had been doing more low carb, high protein, higher fat, it was not good because it’s so high in cholesterol. 😕 Anyway, it’s a struggle. Just trying to find balance.

If LDL cholesterol is high, reducing fats is the most important. Foods with high saturated fats like red meats, full-fat dairy products, fried food, and oils should be reduced first. The easiest way to do this is via a plant-based whole food diet. Good luck!
@rroberts8904
@rroberts8904 Жыл бұрын
Definately moderate fatty meats and full-fat dairy intake (including cheese - SORRY!) as these are sources of cholesterol. However, Rachel, you're doing a great job reducing refined carbs and replacing with more vegetables. Foods such as fruits, vegetables, oats, barley and legumes are high in soluble fibre and this type of fibre is another a great way to reduce LDL cholesterol because it binds to cholesterol in the digestive track and lowers the amount of cholesterol absorbed into your body. Keep up the awesome work 💜

It’s interesting people’s perspective on thinking something is “wrong” because in a year nothing happened and you didn’t get pregnant. My two children are 8 years apart. Not once did I think something was wrong with either of us. I just knew it would happen if it was meant to be. I guess people want things to happen within a specific time frame. But it can be normal for people not get pregnant in a year or even two.
