Lot of interest in the Peppermint Beckys! Chris said the recipe is to basically make a white chocolate ganache like this www.allrecipes.com/recipe/258170/easy-white-chocolate-ganache/ and then thin it out with milk until you get a nice hot chocolate consistency. Then a shot of creme de menthe appropriate to your mug size. He is the WORST for giving exact recipes, everything is just "a bit of this, a bit of of that, until it looks right" 😂

As a trained pastry chef I would be remiss to not say please, please, PLEASE do extensive research on any non standard sprinkles and especially on glitters and luster dusts/powder/shine. Just because it says edible doesn't mean its meant to be eaten, only that in small amounts it can. If you taste metal when using a glitter that means you are consuming metal that has the potential to hurt your stomach and intestines. If you use too much, you WILL get metal poisoning. This is especially true for any little kids. Safe edible glitters are made with sugar and sugar substitutes. All others are intended for light use on parts that generally won't be consumed, such as decorations, mass amounts of buttercream, or fondant. The fancy sprinkles are great if used as sprinkles, not used to color or alter how a drink looks. Please, just use the food coloring made for such a thing. If it settles like in the video here, do not drink it, you can not digest it.

When it comes to mystery bags/boxes, unless it specified you’ll get a certain type of thing…you should really be expecting the least exciting option. Companies use the concept to get rid of stock that isn’t moving

Bartender and baker here. For cocktails I've always had better results mixing the glitter into a simple syrup or a homemade liqueur. I think the viscosity helps translate it into a cocktail better. Also, you don't want an opaque drink when you're using it for best results. And champagne with a glitter filled syrup or liqueur is so pretty because the bubbles help keep the particles moving. As for baked goods I just sprinkle that stuff on willy nilly and let it look pretty!

My friend is a baker and makes a lot of specialty cakes. For her, buying from the fancy sprinkle site is worth it because she sells everything. For me, a casual baker, the price is a bit too high for my casual bakes. Still fun though!!

I always laugh when I think of these KZbinr’s who have to go to their husbands/boyfriends and be like “we need to do more videos with you in them, people really love when you’re on there” as they try to explain to the guys that not only do the fans really want to see them on there, but the videos tend to do better which means more money, meanwhile these guys are feeling awkward about sitting there talking to a camera, but how to you disagree to helping your wife do her job and making more money, so they decide to try and do their best. Then as time slowly goes on, they end up loving it. Lol! Rachel, tell me if I’m wrong in how the conversation probably went down the first time you asked Chris to be more apart of your videos? Lol. Cause I just laugh as I think of how it all probably went down. I love fancy sprinkles! The lustre dust is really meant for decorating icing and fondant. For the drinks, you’re looking for their prism powder and a tiny bit will do. Also, their sprinkles are super high quality. Their colours don’t bleed into icing (especially royal icing) like supermarket brand sprinkles. So for the cake decorating enthusiast and professionals, they are awesome. Also agree with many of the other comments that the prism powders should only be used with clear beverages, not opaque.

Glitter is light refractive. If you put it in something opaque (milk) you will not see it. That’s why LITERALLY ALL of the ads show it in clear liquid like champagne or some other alcohol or water.

If you wash the oodie I’m gonna guess hang to dry. I’ve got blankets with that fake sheep skin and I’ve found the dryer ruins them but hanging to dry helps them stay fluffy. Thanks for the fun morning!! 💚

I have a Sherpa Oodie. Instructions are to hang to dry. For the record, I also have a “Comfy” without Sherpa lining, and I prefer it - and it can go in the dryer (and it was cheaper).

I have an oodie and while it CAN be tumble dried and turn out fine (I’ve done it a few times in the winter), it’s definitely better to air dry it. But in winter when things take time to dry, I fully tumble dry it

Don’t paint the lustre dust on with a silicone brush, use a regular paint brush, so it absorbs some of the alcohol, or it’s just way too wet.

I bought a oodie last year and it's literally one of my most loved items 😂 washes fine for me. I do hang dry most times (it has gone through the dryer without any negatives, I just prefer hanging because it's so big and I don't want to dry it by itself, seems energy wasteful lol).

Hey Rach and Chris! A cool way to make the luster dust work, is to buy dry ice and when you put the drink in a flask or glass (with the luster dust already mixed in) and then put a couple of dry ice flakes in there. It keeps the liquid moving and it looks really cool and glittery (we tried it for my birthday with green and blue shots and it was a highlight of the party😂). I suggest mixing a little little bit of dust in when you're shaking the drink tho, then you have less change of it being too much glitter :)

You only use not even a 1/4tsp per serving 😱😱😱 Like you said yes drink dust is a party trick and also it is technically edible food, meaning it is basically you eating glitter. So your marg was probably really not good. The glitter will not dissolve so you need to experiment with the amount you use since it will change the mouthfeel of your cocktail, and give your drinks a gritty feeling if you use too much.

There is a different between glitter and the stuff she is using. Some glitter is food safe, but should probably not be consumed. These are dusts(not glitter) made with ingredients which is safe for consumption :) that being said, no, she probably should not use as much. Mostly because its expensive 😅😂

The whole time with the drink powder I was just thinking about color theory and how the yellows are gonna make it green and how the opacity is gonna hide the sparkle. Theyre meant for fizzy drinks (like sparkling wine) that are clear, that's when they look good and their purpose, it's like testing those water flavoring drops in milk and being surprised they dont taste good.

You need a pastry brush to make the gold lustre really pop. Use with clear liquor or vanilla and a small amount and make a paste. I use this all the time for cake decorating.

The oodie looks exactly like "the Comfy", just in different prints. I've washed my Comfy a lot and it's still in great condition. It's also incredibly warm - I've worn it out in sub zero (fahrenheit) weather and I couldn't even tell because I was perfectly warm and cozy. I didn't see the pricing on the oodie but if you don't care about "fun" patterns I would go with the Comfy any day.

@@imbranflakes okay but to be clear, the Comfy came out first. Mine is great quality, I've had it for years and washed it probably hundreds of times, and it still looks and feels like new. And it only cost about $30USD, which is currently about $42AUD. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the Oodie, the Comfy might not even be readily available in AUS. But to order an Oodie in America would be much more expensive than buying a Comfy. I can't speak to Canada but since both would probably be an "import" it is likely still a lot cheaper to get the Comfy, although I'm just speculating.

I found this comment while wearing my Comfy from last Christmas. It's amazing. My cat loves making biscuits on it because it's so soft. Mine is a bit stained around the wrists (as I also insist on making biscuits in my Comfy and it's light blue), but I would definitely recommend. definitely hang the oodie to dry! sometimes I do put ours through a very low temp dry designed for delicates just to kickstart it cause otherwise it takes absolute ages to dry... but that's the best you can do to keep them flooofy

Being a Baker, use the lustre dust with a fluffy brush, get an even coating and it looks luxe. Also use a tint amount in drinks for sparkle 😍

We used fancy sprinkles glitter for our wedding cocktails last august. We got blue and gold colors and used them in a blue and yellow colored drink. Then they were already that color and it just emphasized and added shimmer and you don’t have to use very much at all. My husband did add the blue glitter to a yellow drink once and it turned it green though and it wasn’t a very good color green lol.

How to wash That fabric, You put it In a pillowcase then that’s its own load so just the pillowcase with the oodie inside, Or blanket or whatever you have That’s that fabric, Then you put it in a cold wash then take it out and put it in the coldest dry setting that you have then you hang it up the rest of the way inside out to dry

Maybe with the powered pigment add a little in a small bowl or container with a little bit of the liquid. I would stir that and add that to your drink of choice. That is what I would do if I was adding that stuff to recipe like frosting or something.

For the shimmers- use a tiny bit in a fizzy drink. The fizz keeps it moving around and you do not need a lot AT ALL. 😉

a lot of fluff comes off on the oodie's first wash but after that it actually washes rlly well I have the exact same purple one

I've had my Oodie for nearly a year now and washed it many many times. It's still super soft and I was worried the fleece on the inside would go weird but it hasn't. I dry mine outside on a sunny day inside out.

Oodies are the best. We wore them all thru winter and working/schooling from home. Wash and wear very well

I work as a bartender, and I have used Luster Dust in specialty drinks before. The key is how much you put in. When I used it, I used a VERY little amount. I used the back end of a bar spoon, and didn't even use half of that area with the powder. It is just a tiny little bit, to add a shimmer to the drink, but not enough to change the actual taste. If you are adding that much, it could potentially be harmful for consumption.

The oodie (real ones not knock offs) washes easily. I just throw it in the machine & dry flat. They’re addictive and so comfortable.

You will NOT regret your Oodie. They are the coziest things. Living in Melbourne, Australia we used ours alot with the unpredictable weather. The best way to wear them is with a tank top and leggings. I have the garlic bread one and a Friends one. My sister has the pizza one. Cats also love to sit on and in them 😂
