You can cook sweet potatoes in the microwave for roughly 5 minutes when covered with a damp paper towel. Just poke holes on them as normal , wrap in damp paper towels and place in the microwave for 5 min and then 30 second increments after. Works like a charm
@stephrashid65133 жыл бұрын
Yep that's how I make them as well!
@allih80213 жыл бұрын
I think that the benefit to the toaster method is the browning. You aren't going to get that with microwaving. I'm super excited to try this method because my favorite way to eat sweet potatoes is to cube them up, toss them in olive oil and salt, pepper, garlic, and a little smoked paprika and roast them in a hot oven. HEAVEN. Feel like I could "roast" the slices to get similar exterior texture in the toaster and then brush with some butter or olive oil and dust with my spices and get a reasonable facsimile with far less effort. I think. I hope. We'll see?
@cyndirueger94983 жыл бұрын
You can also cube them and put them in an air fryer. I personally don't have an air fryer, but I have an acti-fry so it tosses them for you, so no need to flip in the middle, but works well and doesn't take as long!

I must say I never liked the crispy parts of noodle casserole, but the pasta chips are sooo yummy! I think maybe Rach burnt them too much... My friend has an air fryer so we tried the air fryer pasta a few weeks ago and it was so good! We used Farfalle (bow tie) and just a little oil, italian herb mix and the tiniest amount of chili. Her air fryer is really small so we had to do it in two batches and if you flip it well enough and make sure you have an even layer (just at the bottom) they do get more evenly done. I didn't mind though that some parts were more crispy and some more al dente, but I definitely preferred the crispier parts. My friend didn't like them as much when they were starting to cool a bit and I admit, they're best hot, but I still really liked them as they were cooling down too. I also didn't think they tasted of stale pasta.
@hirtisrandolph48433 жыл бұрын
Maybe tumble/fold the popcorn in a stand mixer on the slowest setting while you add the white chocolate, caramel or candy melts. That will help to more fully coat the popcorn and make it more like a rice crispy than a shell of white chocolate ganache dripped over popcorn.

Those tubes of cinnamon rolls scare me too! They changed the way they're made now so they don't pop when you peel the wrapper off. And/or just cutting the sweet potato into smaller bits and then throwing them into the water to cook, they take maybe 3-4 more minutes then than normal potatoes do. Tip: microwave the icing in its plastic container for a few seconds then you can pour it rather than smear. I hate that it tears up my cinnamon rolls so I like to pour it hot over the top. Then it stays hot too. And if you add butter before frosting it melts the butter.
