My heritage is Turkish. I come from a very artistic family & was culturally exposed to good, & pretty good, breathtaking or original dancers regularly... This dancer is exceptional! His athleticism is absolutely flawless, the precision of his body control rivels that of famous Indian Gurus, he is not sync but becomes the music & rhythm all the while when his head is autonomous & judging by his facial expressions, is flirting w/ the audience... that's almost magic 👏 I'm rarely impressed by Belly Dance on this level...but this dancer caused me almost multiple personality disorder just to see each & every piece separate & then their fusion to such a performance I'm afraid I lack the words to describe appropriately. Thank you for such a rare experience of total awe 🌹👏✨

I never saw a male belly dancer, I looked for curiosity but i was enchanted . This young man transported me and for a moment i forgot I was in the USA midwest and I was a guest of the royal palaces of Thebes and Memphis, he entertained Ramses and enchanted Nefertiti, i went to the courts of the Kedivas and Pashas, visited the tents of the Beys and the oasis of the silk road... unbelievably beautiful and mesmerizing.... @QTee Yes, thats what i always thought too, i didnt know there were men dancing this before reaching this video. Some scholars say this dance was made for both, females and males, i dont really have my own knowledge about it. For long years i was a king of irritated by the fact that most of female dancers that was seeing were concentrating only on movements (basically shaking) and i was always missing to see a proper choregraphy, something like a nice story, even a light one...but something more than just shaking, it was like an insult brought to the proper bellydance to me. I discovered recently that the choregraphy thing had developed more in this field in the last years (probably last decade), when males got more involved.

As a lifelong dancer and award-winning Middle Eastern performer and teacher for 30+ years I can see that this young man has obviously been influenced by our beloved Rashid of San Francisco, who left us more than a decade ago. Rashid and I were both Salimpour-trained and taught with both Jamila and Suhaila. The precise isolations and his posture and especially hand placement are nearly exact replications of Tom/Rashid. Nice work!

Sometimes it is not that they are copying someone else's work, but that culturally [can be taught to them by their Mother or Father or Grandparent] it is passed down through generations. It can be a very special form of dance and sometimes they teach the King's children these forms of dance. Don't know how masculine it is considered in his culture but it sure looks exotic.

@@terebina8946 and @Jasmin Fellari.. belly dance did not come nor originated from the harems of sultans. this is a misconception about this dance. of course women that resided in harems did dance, because this was something natural to do for entertainment and celebration. but belly dance or the real name 'Oriental dance' is much older then Harems of sultans. it originated from different style of middle eastern traditional and folkloric dances dating back from the ancient Egyptians. That this dance is to seduce men is also a misconception and this comes from the old movies and how they portrait the belly dancer as seductive or the one that steels husbands. this has nothing to do with real oriental dance. So nobody has to be seduced with this dance. it pure for the public to enjoy like the dancer is doing. take some time to study a bit about this art form and enjoy it.

@@СветланаПешкова-ш1ю танец любого народа это тренировка и подготовка к войне, занятия на ловкость и выносливость, владение телом, работа с публикой, то есть наблюдение за противником. Почитайте историю любого танца, любого народа, у каждого народа движения используемые при танце, повторяют движения используемые в бою. Есть книга старая, времён советов, там очень хорошо описаны танцевальные движения того или иного народа, которые по мере взросления юноши переходят в боевое искусство.
