Love this tempo. So tired of pianists rushing this piece like they're in a race.

Fins FinsT, his more probable work is recorded without a piano roll. senar.ru/works/rachmaninoff-prelude-g-moll is the official link to his own recording.

Although they both end the piece with an extra octave so I would presume he made 2 piano rolls with different style.

I don't buy this as being played by "Rachmaninoff himself". The artist takes far too many liberties with the tempo. There are gaps here and there which only detract to the listener's experience. So, PHOOEY! The only thing that saves this recording is the music itself. Even an example as bad as this still sounds wonderful BECAUSE it's Rachmaninoff!!!!

I can say it is, because it is very similar to his esplosive crescendos of his own interpretation of "Prelude in C#m". Maybe It was recorded in different times of his life. And Also, this interpretation is unique, unlike another old recording that is similar to ALL interpretation of "Prelude in Gm". This recording has more emotion and depth.

If this is Rachmaninoff he was a mediocre pianist then....I hope this is someone else..
