I'm glad to see that this young man did learn the piece correctly. The execution of it is without fault. Also playing with orchestra, the balance between them is amazing. When I knew this pianist he didn't have an orchestra to work with. But time has made up for that.

Flawless, but lacking any curb appeal. Can't quite put my finger on it... perhaps the conservative and slower tempos, and missing any real fire and passion this work usually brings out. I kept wanting more bang from both the piano and the orchestra, but neither delivered. The other viewer below calls it sober, restrained, and conservative... sure was. We all know Lukas can bring it on, just not today... Singapore jet lag?
