Marvelous, already as a teenager, he has this artistic overview and knowlegde how to make a masterpiece, yes I agree his melodic qualities are prominent although his vast harmonic landscape is also touching the surface here, the gigantic harmonic structures are revealing very rapidly in his coming production. A genius.

At around 5:14, the sheet music doesn't seem to match up with the audio. The audio shifts up an octave for the last two repetitions of the pattern C B A C, but the sheet music doesn't indicate that change.

It might be the performer's choice. How are you so sure the sheet music is wrong?

@@phrog1090might be a choice of the performer or a different edition. Another example: The Legende by Wieniawski. Some editions don’t write a sordini marking at the end but sotto voce. Also in my edition the last note of the last arpeggio is notated an octave lower without an 8va marking, because it would have reached into the line above. Nonetheless it is clear, that it should be played an octave higher than notated.
