The best album ever! I own it, and I listen to it almost everyday. Thank you!

Einfach wunderbar!

Very articulated, precise and restrained performance of these " classics" of the two pianos repertoire, elegant and musically clear without loosing the passional dimension typical of these Pages ( La nuit l' amour, for ex. Or the beautiful Valse...). Magnificent duo, bravissimi, thanks a lot for the choice.

I'm only 15 minutes in and this is by far the best performance of these pieces that I've ever heard. So thoughtful and expressive, bringing out elements in the music that I've never noticed before.

I even didn't know Nikolay Petrov passed away... Superb music, thank you so much! Interesting that in the movement called "pâques" (Easter), apart from the bells ringing, there is an almost literal transcription of the Easter orthodox prayer chanted by everyone in the church many times during the Easter service: "Христос воскресе из мертвых - christ arose from the dead", at 22:27. Except that the actual chant finishes in C minor (in this case), and Rachmaninov made a modulation further to the coda.

The painting is by Ilya Repin and it's called "Sadko".

Great music and a wonderful recording. I think that also the painting, "Sadko" by Ilya Repin, is a very suitable choice. Bravo!

This is truly awful "music".It is just random noise. Bach and Mozart would be appalled.

You don't have to be so dismissive. It's obviously a very different and less strict style but you can't deny that a lot of thought and care went into composing this music.
