I really don't understand why the white people always pull the "It's where I'm from" "It's how I was raised" "It's what I was taught" card. They're all adults. They're all mature and developed enough to form their own opinions, morals and values. They act like it's impossible to stray from what you grew up with, but it's not. I have many family members who racially profile and stereotype and I don't agree with them at all. I couldn't care less what my parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc, think of other races. This is my life. I go to a school that is extremely culturally diverse and I am utterly grateful for that. Daily I am surrounded by other people who grew up with different customs and traditions. I enjoy meeting all kinds of people. And from what I've witnessed everyday people of every race are beautiful, talented, smart, compassionate, and good people. Yes, there are thieves, liars, cheaters, scumbags, etc, but just as the good qualities, those bad qualities are also found in all races. I've met plenty of white people who are huge pieces of shit, and I've met plenty of black people who have huge hearts. I'm just disgusted by racism and stereotypes in 2014. It's ridiculous and I think it's one of the worst things that occur in today's modern society. My boyfriend is black and I can honestly say I love him whole heartedly. I can also say I've never met a "white boy" who was as polite to me, generous, selfless or loving. My take on it is, meet people, get to know people, surround yourself with a person before you assume how terrible they are. It's clear that all the white racists are worse people than the blacks, Hispanics, Arabs, etc, who are being falsely racially profiled.

That Brittany and Christian guy really got on my nerves saying "that's the way I was raised". I was raised by a family of homophobics, yet I support the community. No matter how you were raised, at a certain point in your life you have to decide whether or not u agree with someone based on your OWN personal beliefs. Not everything you see or hear when you're being raised is going to be true or you're going to agree with that, because you won't in some cases. But people have to stop being so judgmental, ESPECIALLY with race. NO ONE GETS TO CHOOSE THEIR RACE. You can not judge someone by their skin color or sexuality.

If shows like this are done, then it should all be shown.

For the first 95% of this video, I wasn't too shocked about anything that was said, we've all heard opposing racial views on just about every single skin color, but when the spotlight came onto LATINA WOMEN, I couldn't help but pay attention. As a Latina woman, I don't really get to hear what people think of me because we're often so ignored. We don't have television segments or polarizing news broadcasts or people speaking up on our behalf or even sharing opinions on who we are... I guess it was interesting to finally see perceptions on who I am, and truth be told it was way too amusing. Glad I got to hear the ignorance that I've been sheltered from for a while. Kind of makes me feel like I have to gear up to show up these bitches when I finish getting my degree and make that 6 figure salary.

The thing with the moms really pisses me off; I'm one of five kids, and both our parents (yes, man-Becky; my brothers and I do all have the same father) worked hard all their lives to put us through school, make sure we had clean clothes and good food, all of that. And our mother busted her ass going back to school while working, becoming a teacher, and never once taking handouts. And that whole "my hometown, blah, blah blah" is BS; you're an adult now, no more blaming your ignorance on your upbringing (esp. since he has a black roommate, FFS). 29:47 -Apparently, neither did you; it's "do *well* in school." There is NO debate. All people were made and it doesn't matter if your Spanish, Black, Chinese, White, Bi-racial/Multiracial Korean, etc. you are beautiful, and so is your race. And you have the right to be equal, non-segregated and not discriminated. Prejudice thoughts and stereotypical judgments are entirely ludicris. It so childish to examine a whole entire race as dirty, ugly, poor, or uneducated. I am a 14 year old African American and I am not an idiot. I would love if my children learned Spanish, that's apart of their heritage, and they should be proud and they should speak it if they wish to do so. I have been told from others that my children will be confused or not love themselves because of who they are and I just say screw what those negative people think. If you ask a white person about racial progress they'll tell you just that, that because Barack Obama is BLACK, Blacks/POC are accepted. That they can get whatever job they like and race would not hinder that BUT if you ask a Black person about racial progress they'll tell you that they get followed around by security whenever they're in a store, they are more likely to serve a prison time for a drug charge, they make 75% doing exactly what a white person does, they are more likely to end up on Death Row...so things are most definitely not where they need to be.ALL these things (that often whites disregard) are present EVEN WITH A BLACK MAN IN OFFICE!

I hate that that's his excuse for stupidity. "I'm from Texas," well I am too, but in my city there is rarely outspoken racism. San Antonio is a mosaic of people from all walks of life. If you act out because of race, you will get lash back from everyone around you.

I'm from England, I never knew how shockingly rasist some people are in America, like seriously, I can't believe that guy said those things and still some how thinks it's okay to say that. I come from south London and there are so so soo may different cultures I promise not all white people act in this discusting rasist way, everyone is equal and should never be ashamed of who they are and defently NEVER judged by the colour of their skin.

Thanks for your sentiments. Yeah, it can be pretty bad here. That's why I appreciate the British culture and media -- it's always super multicultural and way more reasonable than ours. If Trump wins in '20, I swear I'll be coming over to live with y'all, lol

When people talk about equality, I feel like it needs to be equality for all. Not all white people have it so easy. I certainly never did. There are gonna be racist people for every race.
@HopeAcedia10 жыл бұрын
I agree, but look at the majority of the people racially abused, It's usually a black person, or a muslim person, or anyone else. Not saying white people DON'T get racially abused, I know a few people who have, but when you look at everybody in the group, I bet 60% will probably be people who aren't white.

As a black man, I see these numbers and I use it as motivation to continue being the good person that I am. I feel that if you CHOOSE to ignore my good qualities, that's on you. And vice versa. If I CHOOSE to ignore reality, that there are good, kindhearted white folks in the world, then that's my bad, not the white man's. I could care less, who's racist and who's not anymore. Just don't come after me, my family or try to jeopardize my job opportunities, then we won't have a problem.

That's such a stupid excuse, "I was taught to be racist" "I grew up that way" "I don't know any differently". If you're self-aware enough to make those kinds of statements then you're self-aware enough to know that those are just lame ass excuses coming out of your mouth.

STORY 101: True Story I was working for a retail Electronics many years ago. One day a Man came in, in a Business Suit, he had a Suitcase & the man is good looking, tall and looked very put together. He started buying stuff (lots of stuff) the total came up to $15,000.00 approximately. He wanted to pay with a credit card. I took the credit card and because of the amount of purchase I was trained to have a driver's license as a form of ID before he can use it for purchase. REASON: At any given time a person is willing to put himself to DEBT for one day using a high interest credit card there are only 2 reasons why this could happen. 1. The credit card does not belong to them 2. It is a kid who happens to use parent's credit card. Turns out the Man's Drivers License was fake. I called for Code Red and Cops came and arrested the Man. Conclusion "NEVER JUDGE ANYONE" because of Race, Clothing, Looks or any other stereotype you have learned in your childhood. Because the person you might be judging can be the DOCTOR that will save your Kid's life someday and that person you think was "All That" could be the one STEALING FROM YOU.

Spanish and proud! Finally someone says it! You don't have to be Mexican to be Latina/Hispanic. We come in dark brown colors to the whites of whites. We can have any color hair. We come from like 50 different countries. I literally have to explain this to everyone at my school who isn't Latina like everyday. I have pail white skin, that does not mean I am of a "white" race.
@Alicia-oj8ul8 жыл бұрын
Same here. I suffer discrimination by black people because they perceive me as white, and it just pisses me off. When I tell them I'm Latina, they act all embarrassed for mistreating me thinking I'm white, but the damage is already done by then, they f**king label me and said/did racist shit to me. All races can be racist, ALL OF THEM.
@EnlightenedMan8 жыл бұрын
Latina isn't a race. It sounds like you're a white Latina so them calling you white is actually accurate concerning your race. Whatever Latin country you come from is your ethnicity, not your race.

Wow, this level of candor in a conversation about race could never happen today, and ironically, these are exactly the kind of conversations we need to be having to move forward. We moved to a state of hyper political correctness, and that will get us nowhere.

I like how these people care about judging the people around them 24/7. When I'm out all I think about is what I have to do and when I can go home. I don't give a damn about trying to dissect those around me by their appearance.
@SuperTruthful8 жыл бұрын
+Kiana Oliveras It was an experiment. But people do have those racist views even if they see people doing things not apart of the stereotype. Like, working, going to school, being with their mate or taking care of their kids. They focus on the negative. I don't dissect either, unless, and incident is occurring.
@kianaolive8 жыл бұрын
+SuperTruthful I understand but even if I was apart of the experiment my answers would have been super boring. Like, I don't know it's just a woman with her kids am I supposed to feel or think some kind of way? It baffles me that these people were so quick to judge and dissect with barely any information or prompting.
