Not based on my race, but something that should have never happened. I was attacked in my own home by a neighbour, who broke down the door to get to me. Yet even though I was perfectly polite with police, I was arrested, because I had used a small weapon against this woman to survive, (PERFECTLY LEGAL, and I escaped the second I could), yet she was not arrested (even though her breaking down my door was recorded on my 911 call) ! I was brutalized and then victimized a second time by police. I am a disabled 48 year-old woman, with no criminal record, and chronic kidney disease.

From experience as an officer, cops are taught to state false items like this ("Stop Flexing" - "Stop Resisting" - "I smell marijuana" - "your heart is beating so fast, what is wrong with you" etc, etc, etc as they grab you so when the evidence comes out the jury can hear you verbalize all these accusations in order to sway the opinion. The jury cannot honestly determine what the officer honestly was "experiencing" that the video doesn't show and it's the attempt to legitimize the officer's actions. The penalty should have been MUCH HIGHER. This incident could have ended in the death of someone. The guy wasn’t even fired for his crime. This behavior continued unabated in Des Moines, Iowa. I know one place to avoid at all costs.
