Jey also was an NYPD anti-crime unit operative cop and i suppose smarter enough as well to figure better speech lines to speak with police officers (instead of childish insult), also MIB have some ways to impersonate themselves as some else agents. As for ch!ld Jey... hmmm... that one actually fit first movie?

if nowadays percentages are not for whites so even "colored" NYPD cops more suspect other "colored" persons. It was worse percentage back then. So its not really "twice a day". Statistically speaking. There is something not changed. Reasons. Its still not equal society in USA. But people, including blacks, prefer take immediate once pay instead of make pay or change something those who should change it. The whole BLM protester was a way to make some whites earn large amount of money supposed to be spent on some colored oriented programs. Whites with BLM transpararnts on a white money bring money for whites. No black get anything from that. One big corruption. BestButly spying on employee instead of make cameras do what theybmade for - security. Employers forced to suspect visitors in stealing. And if some blacks falsely accused of it - BestBuy bought them. Bad cops, bad employers. But never bad system, bad corporation owners. We do that for ourselfs. We take bride money to keep silent about corruption in government and society. BLM switch to QIA++ with same goals and results. Real LGBT got nothing.

Oh no the hippies and meatheads lingered well into the 70s. Whole movement started to wither when Nixon ended the draft in 1973 as the US troops withdrew from Nam with a peace accord victory (on paper). Turned out the driving force was draft evasion 64 to 73. By the late 70s they were considered funny but I still knew some old hippies pushing 35 when I was in my teens. By 1982 most of them remembered they had college degrees, cleaned up, bought miami vice/ Hewy Lewis suits, bought BMWs and became yuppies. This is about to happen again.

When the first movie was announced I was hoping it would be more like the original comics. They are much, much more darker than the comedy we ended up with. Still, the first one in good, the others not so much. Would still like to see one closer to the original comics, but given how Marvel now owns the rights for the comics, it probably won't happen.

That car is only 6 grand????? 😢 those were the days.
@james_ford86
@james_ford86 8 ай бұрын
No, those weren't the days. Sure, by today's standards and inflation rates, $6k isn't much. However, back then, that was a LOT of money. Heck, you could buy a decent size home for under $30k in a lot of places. That's less than many Americans make in a year now. What you're failing to take into account is inflation. We make a lot more money now, but everything costs a lot more as well. Buying a car is still the same investment, percentage-wise, for your budget today as it was back then. Unless you were one of the few who had that kind of money laying around to buy a car outright, changes were you were financing it and paying it off for several years afterward, just like today. Back then, the minimum wage was $1.30 an hour. That meant that you made somewhere at or above $2,704 per year if you worked a 40 hour work week all year without taking a single day of unpaid time off. That six grand looks a LOT more expensive in that light, now doesn't it?

Man, 6 Grand in 69 is like 52 grand in 2024... And average salary in 69 was less than 8 grand a year... So that car and similars were pretty expensive for lots of people...😢😞

I am not going to lie, after watching this if I was a cop I would find a white partner and be like Will Smith we got to pull him over and ask does he still play for the Detroit Darkes.

I love how he got racially profiled right after stealing a car. Which they weren’t aware of yet, which means it still wasn’t ok.

Actually they did. Never initially asked for his license and registration. They went right into questioning his credentials in driving a car like that.

That's not how that works. They did 100% racially profile him. They had no idea the car was stolen and had absolutely no indication it was stolen, except that he was black ... which is called racial profiling. Black dude, expensive car = he must have stolen it Just because it's technically true in this case, doesn't mean it's not racial profiling. They also thought he stole the suit, which he didn't.
