Such a great video. 100% of trust. 100% of fun. Thank you Dale for capturing this amazing lap, I love every second of it. Thank you Andy allowing me to be your passenger princess. :)

Nice to hear Andy's voice! I'm not a biker but the lines and smooth roll in look good to me, it's laps like that, that keep the dream alive, enjoyed that Dale cheers!

Haha, yeah, but if I'd have been on the Duc, with no passenger, and Andy would be on my ol' Honda, he'd still disappear I reckon!

Great 5th generation VFR riding, I could only add a huge track only power boost by fitting the redline pair of oxygen sensors plug and play kit. And waterless coolant with silicone hose kit and the impeller fan from vtr firestorm. Although on such a hot 30oc day fan would stay on constantly by itself. Amazing ride thank you so much. Wow

I'm looking at a de-cat heeder system. Thanks for the tip about the fans. I was in the Alps in 30+ weather and the temps were over 100C on every climb!

What epic weather for the Doc Scholl day! Might have to try and get on next year's one. Always been tempted but the weather always puts me off. Cracking lap, good old fun! I wired a fan override switch into my RSV4 for the coolant temp reasons. Engine Ice coolant would bring down the day to day temps but on track it would creep over 100c on a warm day constantly if I didn't have the fans on permanently.

Absolutely you should, it's a great craic. Mechanically, I'm gonna have to try a few things for the cooling if I'm gonna persist with this as the do-everything bike

Brilliant video! I met Andy back in 2009, lovely guy! I got his autograph too, which he seemed slightly perplexed about, I said you'll be famous on KZbin one day! Lol 😂 Martin from Hotel Burg Stube signed my Ring card too, haha. Shame, I think that place has gone now? Always had great times there with Andy, Martin and Heidi when I came over on the bikes or in the cars with my dad. 😊

Nice riding! I have two gen3 VFRs, I was there three weeks ago and followed your advice and rented a race prepped Cooper. Great tires, next time I may step up to the Supra. Peace

It only seams to overheat now when I slow down in the city. Only just seen 28oc weather hear in Wilmslow. The waterless coolant does improve mostly. If on song it's untested but I've not come close to the fan. Im keen to have you win more places. Mines the hiss 2000 model 5th gen. Yours is turning in well now. Great bike and race skills man.

I've got the latest model black widow stainless steel headers. Stunning improvements in weight saving and performance, if you can still use it! Tricky to install, I cut a rear header off rear to install. Black widow included a high line rear pipe. Although I'm preferring a fuel can oval in chrome as it's lighter and not so nasty sounding. My rear ohlins is impossible to set up. I'm going to try and fit the super black bird rear shock next whilst I have the ohlins refreshed. Once done I listen to a tone along side then rip open the throttle, it's searing through 3 and 4th I back right off in amazement! Love your Chanel

I'm gonna build an Ohlins later next month, all the parts have arrived at the shop where I work. As for Black Widow... I've had them on my watchlist for too long... but nothing in stock for months :( I have a UK unrestricted ECU sat here ready to go!

Are you still thinking about upgrading your suspension? I think the VFR did allright, perhaps you could also look into different types of coolants (Engineice for example, thought I’m not sure if that’s available in Germany), hoses (Samco) to make small improvements but the biggest one will perhaps be the cat-delete as you and others pointed out. Great video, loved seeing two totally different V4s sharing the track…
@btgmoto4 ай бұрын
So I've actually got the parts list for the Ohlins rear shock from 20 years ago, and we're going to build a new one (even though they've not been in stock for over 10 years!)

I still don't quite understand why they went with a dry clutch for the Multi V4RS, but it's cool I guess.

For road bikes a dry clutch is awful, but for some reason the Ducatista think it's great lol

Absolutely brilliant video there Dale, talk about idyllic conditions, albeit a little hot! Definitely get rid of the cat part of the system, there are plenty of options out there. I've just sold my WP suspended VFR VTEC and gone back to the last of the 750 versions, an FV. Immediately felt at home again in a way I never did on the VTEC. Already has a motad full stainless system and high level carbon can on it (no cats on this model from factory anyway). Have just fitted some Bridgestone T32 rubber to replace the 11 year old Michelin's that were on it. Also ordered a top line Nitron R3 rear shock which I'll get fitted and set up for my weight and style at HM Racing near me. Front have already been set up by MCT. Once that is all sorted I'll be coming over. 😊 Can't say I miss the combined braking one little bit, like you was cooking the rear disc on trackdays. In fairness to honda I suppose that wasn't considered in the VFRs remit, just hated the spongy disconnected feeling from all those old rubber hoses. I think it would be a really interesting for you to see the difference between your VFR and a really sorted 750 like mine., would definitely give the 800 a run for it's money. It's funny, when the anniversary 800 model came out it kinda looked like a crashed bike rebuilt with wrong colour panels, but now I find I'm really liking it as time has gone on, just looks classy 👍 Safe riding ❤

It definitely looks better in my eyes now, than when it came out. I've got the Lextek and Black Widow both on notification, as they're out of stock and have been for a couple of months...
