yes i keep saying same thing. im using flat tire defender 2 setup in my bike can pump up to 10 psi and ride around its fun. obviosly run higher for speed but to crawl over stuff its great. true inserts add weight but bombing down some sharp rocks to bust your tire on the rim like we have seen over and over on this show sucks.

@@smuy3782 I don't think that would help much if at all. In the PNW Maxxis is by far the most popular and works the best. (On my local hills) I only ever seen like 2 people running Michelin, a few running Schwalbe, Vittoria, or Conti. Almost everyone is running Maxxis. I'm not a Maxxis fanboy, but I've never had a flat with a Maxxis tire. Can't say the same about other companies. Edit: I also find that the Wild Enduro tires roll slower than Assegai/DHR II combo which the competitors were using.

Mindset after a crash is so critical, it always works best for me to think "now that its out of the way I'm good" its easy to crash get anxious and crash again. The pressure is real.

Honestly I don't mind crashing... it's the really bad crashes that are hard to come back from. I got Bacon stripes all over my body and move on... I feel and broke my hand once and let me tell you that's hard to come back from mentally. Once I got back on the bike I needed a solid month to mentally recover

I would say the tip should have been, not tightening your brake levers to much so they move out of the way in a crash and are easy to move back

You can see Emmet preloaded over a rock roller to pump it and ran straight into/onto a sneaker rock that caused the flat. @40:50 and use ">" to go frame by frame- you can actually see the jet of sealant and air blowing out after hitting it.

People also run crazy low tire pressures. Most MTB KZbinrs that offer tire pressure advice are sponsored by tire companies. Tire companies know that low tire pressures equals more sales because it destroys sidewalls. When everyone ran 30 PSI, tires only wore out when the nubs started to wear down. When you run

Back in my Mx days I've cut casts off,or strapped up wrists/ankles just to make sure I stayed in the points runnings. I completely understand why people don't want to risk it though,doesn't make them "femmy", it's just playing it safe. When you have a day job on the Monday morning,you pick and choose your battles.

im realy disapepointed they did not keep the secrep pros, its important to see how these contestants compare to the people they will actually end up going against. especially for the comparicein of women to men, because even if emmit is going faster over all, flow could be way closer to the times of the women pro than emmit is to the mens.

If they race enduro - why they don't have tire plugs and co2 inflators ? Emmet could save so much time with a 30 sec repair. A trained Enduro racer can fix up and keep going in 30-40seconds

Why does it sound like (or lack thereof I guess lol) Emmet and Flo are using silent hubs? Aren't the bikes supposed to be the same? Having a silent hub such as the ones made by Onyx and Box Stealth would be quite the advantage considering they produce well over half the amount of drag as traditional hubs and have infinite engagement points.

The last two episodes are about the last four remaining competitors (male/female) with no secret pro times included to compare against. So, why should Flo win? Because she has bested the women? I got that but the competition seems to also include the men. Maybe P.A. is factoring in soft skills like the ability to represent a brand or market appeal? I don't know. However, it is clear that if the competition is strictly on physical performance, men AND women included, there is no real contest.

I agree. One crash shouldn't determine it. It shouldn't be total of times. It should be a point system.. you should get points for what place you were in and add it up at the end. Sometimes I have doubts about this show.🤔 I think they decided on Flo winning a while ago. It wouldn't surprise me if they let air out of Emmetts tire to cause that flat.. just like the flat in the other episode.. why didn't they get a cush core after that? Emmett is the best rider.. reality shows are very scripted. People are told what to say and how to spin it..People like to pretend they're not scripted. It's a fun show. I like it. In the very first episode, the tech tips with Addison at the end said how he doesn't tighten brakes too much, so they can be rotated back after a crash. Seems like he isn't following his own tech tips. That said, I have liked that little tip lesson, but come on, practice what you preach!

To be fair, they moved because they were loose, she didn't wack them hard enough maybe to move them back. Tough to do in the moment without wasting time. I'd rather just have mine tight and them either be exactly where I need them. I am skeptical that them being a little less than tight is going to save much after an impact. A hard thing to test.

I think Laura didn't know to whack them back. Also, every rider needs to tweak the the bolt tightness themselves. If Addison did setup the brakes, what works for him to rotate the brakes back might be too tight for Laura.This is her own fault. I wish women racers would step up and stop being useless boobs in terms of basic bike mechanics. Your boy friend/husband/dad/personal mechanic can't be beside you on the race course.

You keep them loose enough so they move in a crash instead of outright break. Which is what they did and she was able to keep racing as a result. They're still tight enough that they are hard to move by hand. It's possible Laura didn't try hard enough to move it back, and obviously it would have taken a lot of time to get a multi-tool out.

The 'maybe they will be saved' factor isn't worth it. Poor Laura may have not crashed it the lever was broken vs very distracting and inconveniently adjusted. To each their own.
