This thing hammers.. I did a v8 Supercar drive at Eastern creek 10 years ago in a fg xr8 manual was bloody fun and for a na it went well. It didn’t take long for the ford v Holden battle to start. Ford did this no Holden did that, just enjoy the cars not put shit on them

You looked like you had an absolute blast rowing that boat around that track. They're awesome machines. It sounds so good. But it definitely looked more at home on that straight sections of the track, and I don't think it's all your fault. If you own cars like this you should experience them on a track at least once. It gives you a much better understanding of their strengths and limitations.

Ford stopped developing Falcon 20 years ago. With a platform that goes back to 1960. Main changes id make with that car would be low mounted Recaro (Focus RS style) seats, and rev matching on down shifts. Premcar did a great job with chassis and engine though

FGX-XR8, GT and GS had super-charged Generation 2 Coyote Engines. Mustang Owners of Today may be look into super-charging there Gen 3 -4 Coyote.

Where’s the paddle shifters? Ford really did well with there interiors didn’t they. 🙄 I think to compensate for the rest of the car they just bolted a shit load of horsepower to it. I’m a fan of both but Holden definitely done a better overall package with the VF.

Ford Aus put out the FG X and SZ Mk II Territory on a total budget of $103.5mil which is very conservative and miniscule, and unfortunately, that's typical Ford philosophy. Ford Aus could've produced a much better product (I still love the FGX) with better support from the parent Ford company. The VE-VF platform was upwards of $1bil and GM Holden went full send despite going bankrupt in the process. Basically Ford Aus sacrificed the bells and whistles of the interior and put all the development of a very small budget into the performance of the car whilst keeping it a relatively affordable product.

​@@RossReviewsau​more power sure by only 9kw lol but has 62nm less torque and in an older worse chassis platform that doesn't handle as well as VF's Zeta platform, plus HSV's torque vectoring and magna ride suspension improve that even further. I'd dare say that the W1's LS9 has alot more tune ability left in it too judging off Americans who mod their C6 ZR1's LS9. It's nice to see Ford did something nice before they killed the Falcon off, but Holden and HSV definitely went out with a bigger bang.
