At higher speeds the Z06 aero will play a bigger factor, but the biggest issue is gearing. The later gears in the C8 are very tall. 2 gears to get from quarter mile speed to top speed, and 2 overdrive gears that aren't used for speed.

Everybody keeps on forgetting the Corvette was built to go fast on a dragstrip and to do professional track day. It wasn’t made for rule racing. You can do it yes but it’s not where it shines. Yes, it’s expensive but get something in the same bracket as it and it’s still cheaper across-the-board, you can make any fucking mustang supercharger on it and be faster. Now try to go really fast in the bends in the Mustang.
