He is driving at that speed, so it's reasonable to assume the brake pedal is being used for stability. Making slight adjustments to the behavior of the car, based on what the driver feels. You might also notice the Sierra driver having his way blocked by a car at one point. Is he supposed to just ram instead of braking? To me it seems you are saying "since he's already speeding, he should just do everything else as dangerously as possible. He should not touch the brakes even if it seems necessary."

It was like driving over a millitary tank platform for hundreds of miles. I feel sorry for those who have to drive over it every day to go to work. @@joyrider6456 I can empathise there as I’m also someone who really likes cars (all 90s Jap stuff inc a few Skylines) and driving on some English roads is bad enough in an everyday car but in something sporty, low or modified its almost unbearable. I could just about understand it if I had to avoid some back road to nowhere but the left most lane of the M1 or any motorway for that matter being undrivable is just a disgrace.

The speed on that copper's display is their actual road speed. Speedos in the UK must overread by law. In Fords it's by around 10%. So your gauge might be showing 110, but in reality you're going 100. These motorists are probably showing 120+ gauge speed.

That's not quick. I had a friend in 1980 who out accelerated a police car at over 110mph, according to the policeman who spoke to the driver after the driver had noticed the flasing blue light in the far distance and slowed down to 70mph. It was a nice young bobby who seemed entertained by the whole thing, explaining that he could catch up with my friend in traffic but each time it cleared he would scamper off into the distance in his BMW 528i while the policeman in his Ford something was left behind. My friend was reported for doing between 96-102mph, serious, but not enough to lose his licence. Lesson learnt. Not possible now, too many cameras, too many zombie drivers.
