Yes I also understand why someone would buy this. You make a great point with the online championships, Motorsport is very expensive, so this is a great way to improvise the experience. It is certainly safer too. And well.. its awesome :D I am also glad we share the same opinion :)

The flopping around is to replicate the g-force. It has to toss you a bit so you feel yourself going into or leaving a turn. Same with braking etc. without it this would be xbox

I understand you completely, I even share the same attitude as yours I'd also buy a real car instead. And I also agree that real speed can't be simulated But on the other hand I do understand people who would buy this over a real car.... There are lots of online championships in which you can enter only by a single click on the mouse and start racing, and in order to race (legally) in reality you need much more than a car and you need a lot more money than 2000$ Glad we share the same opinion :)

Too bad this setup would cost $20,000. The motion could be a bit more fluid but overall that looks pretty freakin impressive! Put a car body on that and it will feel 100% real.

@douqa good point, I didn't think of this... so on, the concept on the video don't get near 1G, cause it don't turn 90°, I think it gets 0,5 or 0,6G, maybe 1G only when still moving

Would be really cool for a helicopter sim. Pretty unrealistic for a racing sim though, aside from wipeouts. It needs to simulate Gs, not body rolls and nose dives.

i have only driver 4 or 5 cars but i drove a gokart at about 50mph and when i watch this it does not looks exagurated at all i i remember driving the go kart

Cause race cars shake when you drive them? Have you ever seen film from a camera mounted on a F1 for example? Shaky stuff. And for the ups and downs, it probably resembles up- and downhills. Its har to tell if it is too much or not.

Well you do have a point, but the difference is that you can't drive the car you'd buy doing 150+ mph and you also can't go on a circuit and just enter a race....and the third (maybe most important thing) if you crash with your real car the way that this guy crashed, you wouldn't be able to just press esc and start all over.....

But on a serious note this is great setup but I just don't think this is good for car games it would suit more flying games as It just doesn't simulate car mechanics/g-force very effectively. If it was more subtle in simulating suspension it would have been ideal but this is just overdoing it since when does car dip so low on either sides when you drive over a whole etc?

Desperado126 in order to simulate the g forces of a turn this thing has to lean to the sides, so you get pulled that direction by gravity, since there is no centrifugal force because you are stationary
