If they're trying illegal means to enter America it's America's duty and right to weed out such people whether Indian, or another ethnicity but the point here is pointing fingers on Indian Americans who are basically Americans is wrong. Indians and India support America and every other country who face such issues(infiltration and illegal immigration)because India herself had been facing such issues on all sides of the border. Politicians see only short term gains of increasing voter base by supporting such aliens who do not support or believe in the cultural ethos and spirit of the country rather they infiltrate and bring their own problems and challenge the existing equilibrium of society. As an Indian I support America's stance on immigration (which literally has benefited America for a long time) but hating people for being who they are is wrong.

The growth of Christianity in India is a result of several historical, social, and cultural factors. Here's an overview of how Christianity has increased in India over time: 1. Historical Roots Arrival of Christianity: Christianity in India is believed to have been introduced by Saint Thomas, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ, who arrived on the Malabar Coast (modern-day Kerala) around 52 CE. Colonial Influence: The arrival of European colonial powers, particularly the Portuguese, Dutch, British, and French, led to the spread of Christianity through missionaries, especially during the 16th to 19th centuries. 2. Missionary Activities Missionary organizations from Europe and America actively engaged in spreading Christianity, particularly in remote and tribal regions. Missionaries like Saint Francis Xavier and William Carey contributed significantly to education, healthcare, and social reform, making Christianity attractive to marginalized communities. 3. Education and Social Reform Christian missionaries established some of India's most prestigious schools, colleges, and universities, including St. Xavier's College and Loyola College. They worked towards abolishing practices like untouchability, child marriage, and Sati, attracting Dalits and marginalized communities to Christianity. 4. Conversions Among Marginalized Groups Many Dalits and tribal communities converted to Christianity to escape the caste-based discrimination prevalent in Hindu society. Christianity offered a sense of equality and dignity. States like Nagaland, Mizoram, and Meghalaya have a Christian majority due to missionary work among tribal populations. 5. Contemporary Growth Migration and Urbanization: As people migrate to cities, exposure to diverse faiths and Christian institutions influences conversions. Pentecostal Movements: In recent decades, evangelical and Pentecostal movements have gained traction, especially in southern and northeastern India. Cultural Assimilation: Celebrations like Christmas have become mainstream, contributing to increased visibility and acceptance of Christianity. 6. Role of the Constitution India's Constitution guarantees freedom of religion, allowing individuals to choose and practice their faith, which has facilitated conversions. Challenges and Criticism Anti-Conversion Laws: Some Indian states have implemented laws to curb religious conversions, especially those perceived as coercive. Opposition from Hindu Nationalist Groups: Organizations like the RSS and VHP have criticized missionary activities, alleging forced or incentivized conversions. Statistical Insights As of the 2011 Census, Christians make up about 2.3% of India's population, with significant concentrations in states like Kerala, Goa, Nagaland, Mizoram, and Meghalaya. The growth of Christianity in tribal and Dalit communities continues to be a significant trend. Overall, the increase in Christianity in India is shaped by a combination of historical missionary activities, educational and social initiatives, and the search for equality among marginalized communities.

I am a citizen of the world, having been born in Italy. yet do not have any Italian DNA, that is mostly Nordic from my father's side and Balkan from my mother's side. Grew up from young in East Africa, followed by South Africa, then Kuwait followed by Saudi Arabia, before finally returning to Europe. Wherever I met Hindus and other Indians, I was impressed by them, both for their behavior and intelligence. Persons should always be judged for the way that they behave towards others, thus I would have been surprised at the reaction of some members/followers of Trump, until I read a book by LUKE MOGELSON, that describes the attitude of many USA citizens towards others. I visit the USA often having cousins and a son that live there, and found so many well mannered citizens. But it takes the bad behavior of a few negative members to give wrongly a bad name to others that do not behave like them.

My main criticism here regarding the coverage of racism against Indians from Trump’s Twitter base. Since this news channel is all about covering news across the globe, I think the coverage of this American issue was half assed. Yes, bringing up racism is part of the question; but considering what is going on in the rest of the world, there needs to be more emphasis on the global political ramifications of Trump’s picks. Considering India is a nuclear country and a major economic power house, Trump’s pro Indian stance is going to hopefully help relations in the long run in bringing the world together. This was a missed opportunity to stifle divisiveness considering there is a major vacuum of news coverage like this in American politics. In my opinion anyway, I have my tunnel vision perspective of the world like everyone else at the moment.

I see comments talking about casteism in India. "Oh, you’ve 'opened my eyes' to the issue of casteism. How informative. So, let’s remain silent until we solve all the issues within our own country? That’s your argument? The sheer audacity of bringing casteism into such a topic and using it as a convenient excuse for others to continue with racism. Yes, racism exists in India, just as it does across the globe. But that’s not an excuse to ignore or downplay it. So what? Are you suggesting that we wait for every nation to 'clean their own hands' before addressing global problems? That’s the problem with this mindset-it's a never-ending cycle of avoidance. Every society, including ours, has flaws to confront, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t address broader issues like racism, just because we’re still grappling with our own challenges. We cannot let one issue be a justification for not confronting another. Ignoring racism on a global scale doesn’t make the problem go away; it only perpetuates it.
