Racism in Australia has ALWAYS been a big issue. I left Australia aged 16 and now live in London. All my friends growing up in Sydney suffered racism. Your name alone would trigger racism. I was born in Sydney and so were they. My European parents wanted out. I’m sure many people reading this will say good riddance based on that fact alone my parents were European and left I still remember a very dear friend of ours named Abraham from Egypt. He was black. I was only thirteen at the time and still remember this story more than thirty years later. He got arrested for overtaking some cars. There were another ten cars that did this but only he got arrested. He was the only black person and that’s why. This was back in about 1995. Back then there were very few black people living in Australia if you did not include aboriginals. I’ve lived in a few countries now and Australia tops the list when it comes to racism. No question. I watched the documentary about racism in Punchbowl against the Lebanese and I was shocked, the attacks on two innocent citizens on a train changed my outlook. The biggest issue facing Australia is it is very isolated country. The majority of Australian# don’t travel outside Australia. Outside the big states like Sydney and Melbourne the people are ignorant and narrow minded. The news is about what happens in Australia. The schooling is Australia history. Hell, I was taught about Ned Kelly who was a convicted criminal and this was part of the education. It is truly spectacular and unlike any place on earth. Racism is open. Most people can be racist in public and get away with it. In Europe, you get arrested. Australia is a good country but it has some massive issues with racism. It hasn’t changed either. Maybe if the Australian people would actually get on a plane and travel more it will improve but the majority haven’t stepped a foot outside Australia. Some go to Thailand but that because it nearby and they like the sex of it and nothing else. They think it’s the best country in the world but they haven’t been in any other country to make that claim. It’s ignorance and backwardness at a scale that would not be acceptable anywhere else and still not taken seriously. You’ve got to also remember Australians are convicts which is not something to be proud of. The aborigines are the true Australians and look how they get treated. It won’t change and never will. The politicians are racist as well. The parents of the bullies promoting racism are the same so the country has absolutely no help in hell. I went back recently. Same shit. Even our estate agent refer to foreigners openly as wogs. It’s racism at a level I can’t understand or comprehend and so out of control it’s deemed acceptable

We, our parents and grandparents, worked hard to make our nation a comfortable home for our children and our children's children. Modern migrants fly into a nation home made comfortable by generations of white taxpayers: power stations, roads, buildings, health care, education etc., to which they have contributed nothing The first white migrants did not. They started from scratch and they are entitled to have the fruits of their labour go to their own descendants, not foreigners. Burglars want better lives. That is why they go into homes built and equipped by others, to help themselves to the stuff that the residents have worked hard to pay for. Modern migrants are like burglars.

@@theurbannews4878 your reply is simply wrong. Racism is really only tribalism with an up to date name. I often wonder if say 100 different groups live together in the one country and you disliked 2 of the 100 groups for any reason are you really a racist? Tell me how long different tribes have fought each other over the centuries? And what do you think of forced integration? What do you think of assimilation rather than multiculturalism? Unfortunately this is the case with most christians, they think they have the moral high ground and it sux. So, since our government never REALLY apologised (and meant it), I will. I am deeply sorry for any harm my great great grandparents and other white supremacists have caused. My heart goes out to the Aboriginal Australians, Torres Strait Islanders, refugees, asylum seekers, immigrants ect who are affected by racism, whether it be continuing today or from the hurtful history. There is absolutely no excuse for what happened, no ‘I have black friends’ no ‘my sisters boyfriends mums husband is black’, there’s no excuse. I am glad and proud to be Australian, I love this country, and I love everyone here, black, white, Asian, blue, I don’t care. Why should recent immigrants get equal treatment anyway? The earlier waves of migrants from Europe are entitled to have the wealth that they created, go to their own descendants, not to latecomers who weren't interested in Australia until the whites had made Australia rich.
@chriswatson16984 жыл бұрын
You have fallen for capitalist propaganda. Capitalists want more and more people to sell stuff to and to keep wages down. Immigration benefits only those already rich in the host country and the immigrants themselves. The very real costs of immigration are borne by the whole community, especially the younger and poorer members of it. Migrants cost. They crowd out infrastructure that neither they, nor their parents or grandparents have paid for. They contribute to the need for more infrastructure that everyone has to pay for, not just the newcomers that make it necessary. They increase the demand for housing, so that those who own urban land make a huge capital gain, while the younger and poorer citizens have to pay more and more for less and less living space. And skilled workers bring their families who are NOT skilled. Very few of the huge number of migrants that the Australian government has brought into Australia, supposedly skilled, are actually very skilled at all. Migrants, skilled or otherwise, do NOT increase the prices that our exports attract on the world markets. But the revenue that our governments get for those exports has to be spread over more people - less per capita. Immigration is ruining Australia. I refer you to the essays of the demographer Katherine Betts and to the website www.macrobusiness.com .au.
@chriswatson16984 жыл бұрын
When my grandfparents came to Australia, they were coming to an outpost of their own country, and it wasn't the rich country that it is now. And it did not already have 24 million people living in it. So why do you assume that "is relevant now then surely was back then as well" Why make such a dopey assumption when it is clear that immigration to Australia was different even 50 years ago, let alone 100 years ago?!!! Unlike modern migrants, the first British migrants did not come to Australia to get a slice of the wealth that another ethnic group had built. They started from scratch, so the situation for them, was vastly different from the situation that the current immigrants fly into. Also, the white immigrants are from western civilisation which was mostly Christian. Our lawmakers were not chosen by people who followed the teachings of a seventh century warmonger who advised his followers to beat disobedient wives and fight the unbeliever. The white immigrants to Australia were opposed to slavery and to indentured labour - which was the reason for the white Australia policy for which all Australian women should be grateful. It is the lack of immigration from non-western countries that made Australia such a lovely place in the 1970s. The Chinese in Asia knew about Australia but weren't interested in starting a new nation, until the British had established a wool industry and had found a way of growing grain in Australia's weird seasons. Then the Chinese horned into an economy built by others. They brought indentured labour with them. Australians aren't all immigrants, in spite of the flood of foreigners imported since 2006. We are the descendants of immigrants, just like the Aborigines and just like everyone else in the world.
@chriswatson16984 жыл бұрын
Have you ever received an inheritance? Would you leave it out in the street for anyone to take? And, being an Australian citizen, I have every right to tell foreigners to refrain from helping themselves to my inheritance. Burglars are humans too, and they want better lives. That is why they go into other people's homes to help themselves to the stuff that the residents have worked to pay for. All humans didn't build Australia. Only those humans who did, and their heirs, are entitled to decide whether we share our birthright or not. Australia is not just a piece of land. The land isn't the source of our wealth. Without effort and investment it would still be just dirt. Our nations are our homes and our parents and grandparents have expended enormous amounts of money, time and effort to make our nations comfortable places in which to live and work. Our borders are the national equivalent of the doors on our houses. Modern migrants are like burglars, moving into other people's homes to take a share of the stuff that neither they, nor their parents or grandparents have worked to pay for. Why do you think that foreigners deserve to move into your home? Do you have a lock on the door of your house? Do you let anyone who wants to, move in with you and share all the stuff that you have worked to pay for?

@@aanand0609 Your ignorance is showing. Population increase in Australia is all immigration. Do you seriously think that Australia's population can be increased forever? Do you really think that it is sustainable? Please remember that the immigrants who built Australia were mostly from western civilization. They didn't come from cultures that practiced slavery, foot-binding, child marriage, caste, polygamy or female genital mutilation. I am old enough to remember how Australia was in the 1970s and 80s when young couples could afford to buy a 3 bedroom house with a garden and still be close to employment. Educated australians who work in well paying jobs are great people. I haven't found them to be racist at all. I mean, I cant say what happens behind my back, but they've been very supportive and friendly in my experience. It's generally Australians who live in super remote areas, not uni educated, mingle around their own people. Just people that are angry and unaccomplished in general who are jealous that the Chinese have figured out Australian property markets better than they could whilst not speaking the language as well, brown people working high income jobs and living a well off life etc. Just basic shit you see other people doing and knowing you'll never get there without working hard. Pisses them off and then they channel all that hatred and insecurity into shit like racism. That's basically it.

Most mentions of racism in Australia are themselves racist because they don't acknowledge the violence of Aborigines to each other.

So "But what about Black on Black crime" is what you are trying to pull. "White" people are INVADERS and not of the LAND, that's the ACTUAL difference.
@Bhebe405 жыл бұрын
White people, you came into the Caribbean and Africa, if you read Columbus's log, he said that he found paradise, and a people who took gold for granted. Who used gold for little artifacts, and was no big deal to black people, when the white men saw gold he went mad, he called it a Gold Rush, and started killing people for a metallic object. The white men came into what he called a new world, and all of a sudden he started to name things. That's why they call it America, based on Amerigo Vespucci a Caucasian, that's why they call it Africa based on a European explorer, a Roman general called Scipio Africanus, they call it New York because it was new to you, you call it New England, you call it New Zealand, you call it new found land because it was new to you. But to Africans, we were already there, that's why we are called Aboriginal, Abo, meaning obstructive from the father, from God himself, original. You won't find Caucasian people calling themselves Aboriginals anywhere on the planet because you're the new men. You're a brand new men to the planet & I say again, we made you through a process of genetic engineering, 6 thousand years ago. From one blood came all human beings but we produced you from us, because within us there are 2 germs, a black one and a brown one, this is not insulting language, this is science, and we found within ourselves a contray nature, we engineered this from ourselves and it was produced as a Caucasian human being. And the first of you that came on the planet was just 6600 years ago. Even the word human, you've heard the term of a darker Hu, Human means a dark man, a man of colour, that's why the top soil of the Earth is called humus, it is the dark organic material that gives life to the earth, whenever you take away the dark organic layer on top or you denature it, you're left with white gradulated sand, a desert. Those that believe white is something to glorify, it's not. You know there's no such thing as a white mice in nature, you know that all white mice were genetically manufacturered? Because they're weak, its the only kind of mice they can really use for experiments, a white rabbit, you'll never find it in nature, that was put there from a laboratory. And so you gotta understand that White intrinsically is a weaker side of black. White is not the strength, white is infact the weak aspect and so, when you want real flour, you get yourself wholegrain flour, the whole meal, it's gotta have the whole meal in it and its called brown flour. And that's the one that wise people eat, not the white flour that has been totally denatured and they call it mighty flour. When you look at the great white shark, its not white, you so desperate to have white things, you call it the great white whale, it's not white, it's black or gray. It's a psychological thing with white people where you want to find your place, your scientists and historians, they spend so much time asking the question, where do we come from? Coz they are puzzled as to your origin, they ask the question, why do we kill the way we do? Because there's a difference in nature, you have a different nature to the rest of the family of the human family. Look at the Chinese, look at the Asians, look at Africans, all of us got dark eyes. All of us got black hair, white people are the only one on the planet who's got Ginger hair, blond hair, brown hair, grey hair, brunette, you see, you gotta understand pedigree, you gotta understand mongolization, when you've got a dog and its all spotted in different colors, you call it a Mungroo. But when you see a pedigree, it is uniformed, and it has a consistancy to it. The white men, you just came yesterday. You're a mixture of us, you're the colored men, you're the one that's gone around the world basing everything on colour. You were the one who went into Australia, you were the one who went into South Africa, Asia and classified people based on colour, that's why you call one of us acturon, another one quodron, half cast, another malato, these are classifications from you not us, We never saw people based on their color. We saw people as human beings. A Caucasian is a person who is anti nature, that's why when the sun comes out, I'm energized, me and the sun we gotta relationship I don't need no sun screen, I don't get cancer from the sun, I love the sun and it loves me. White people you require sun block on, you gotta hide from the sun because you might get a little melanoma, part of me on you that means your death. Why is it instead of harmonizing with the planet you're forever trying to fight against nature? Because its not natural to you, but its natural to us.

They suffer from intergenerational trauma, and they would have to get the help they need. There should be programs for them to grow out of this mental despair that we as a white race have burdened them with. We also need not to feel sorry for what happened 200 years ago, we weren't there. It's a shame someone like Stan Grant who has done very well from a system he so hates, does not wish to talk about the real issues involving Aboriginal people, instead rolling out the tedious racism card. Being only part Aboriginal should not be a reason to fail to mention the chronic alcoholism that exists amongst many Aboriginal communities. The violence perpetrated on the kids that live in these communities by their own kind should be of grave concern to all. Despite the Billions of dollars Australia's various Governments have spent on Aboriginal affairs to try and end the vicious circle, the alcoholism, poor health, domestic violence, high crime rates, high illiteracy rates amongst Aboriginals, continues seemingly unabated. Until a full and factual frank discussion occurs talking about the real issues affecting Aboriginal people by those informed who know what they are talking about, the misery will continue. Throwing the "racism" card into the equation or talking about "invasion day" might create sensational media and set the chattering class into a spin, but this does nothing to ease the misery and suffering of those most vulnerable. Sensational media being the aim here, there's nothing honourable in what he said, nothing honourable at all.

Oh Oh Oh, I was told by a KZbin ginger from Japan that the Japanese can not carry as much fat as western, well, Americans, without suffering consequences much earlier. If this is true, or, even if it's not, it's may be part of the life expectancy problem, especially if, like some other western countries food aid is... uh... more liberal than is prudent.

Effectively he is drawing the conclusion that Australia must be racist because Aboriginal people have much worse health, education, employment and overall wellbeing outcomes compared to the non-Indigenous people. But has he stopped to consider that maybe part of the problem is the fact that Aboriginals are told at every turn that they are downtrodden victims that are being oppressed by the evil white man? Perhaps if there was more attribution of agency to the Aboriginal people, and pressure for them to take responsibility for their actions and the actions of others in their communities, then there might be better outcomes for them.
