Racist slur found on San Francisco restaurant receipt | KTVU

A restaurant on Valencia Street in San Francisco says it's fired an employee who left a racist message on a customer's receipt. We spoke with the woman who received the receipt from Pica Pica Arepa Kitchen.

Im a miserable cook. I started my own restaraunt which became successful then expanded into 5 more restaraunts. I sold them off and in 2016 for a 9 figure number. the person ringing up an order often asks for a name so there is no confusion on who the order belongs to. like Starbucks writes the names on their cups. The receipt that said "Here" seems like they didn't input a name. The other one just used a slur to identify them. maybe for the cooks to do something to the food? maybe just a racist trying to be sly?

But we were talking specifically about this incident where the racial act was directed towards a black woman. Not just "anyone." As black folks we always have to be vigilant when in restaurants or other public places. I dont eat in places where i dont see other people of color. Ive been in restaurants where the servers made us wait longer than anyone else in the room to take our order or even bring our food out... Or simply acted as if they were annoyed by our presence. When i experience this i immediately get up and leave. Im never going to spend my hard earned cash where im not wanted nor will i take a chance and have some evil spririt do something to my food.
