What's with a cable lock, that you can't even use when driving? Why didn't they have a lock core in the ratchet arm like on the Tomahawk roof rack?

I'm looking to buy this rack in the 1.25" receiver version for a 2003 Subaru Forester. Does it still have the same 60lb per tray and 120lb capacity as the 2" version? Also I heard that there is potential for the wheel tray to melt because of the exhaust location. Thanks!

Just bought this rack and after the first use found the hook mount loosened up after a 35 mile drive. Was with my 29 er mountain bike. Any thoughts?

Hello. Yes, tire pressure is important, if the front tire lost air the hook will loose grip. Also, placement of the hook as close as possible to the first point of contact near the front fork is important. Lastly, the initial very firm compression of the hook onto the front tire will determine how stable the hook stays in place. Thanks!
