To people watching poker vids and thinking about becoming a professional poker player, just think hard about this, Brad has dedicated his life to it and he makes not that much from poker directly (but doing great with KZbin and poker businesses). For every "self-made" entrepreneur there are tons of losses and bankruptcies before they "made-it". And some of them have "made-it" several times and not to mention those who never recovered. Remember Brad busted hard his first time going pro and had to go back to a 9 - 5. If it were easy everyone would be doing it.

You're mostly right, but this year is a pretty big outlier. You're leaving out the part where I made half a million in the last 2.5 years from poker. The reason I haven't done well in 2024 is because I played a low volume of very high stakes/high variance tournaments. I could play 5/10 everyday and make $100k+ without much sweat, but that's not really what I'm interested in at the moment.

Honestly that note in the beginning can be applied to almost anything. No matter if you ride a skateboard or play badminton. Its a very inspiring note for people, not only poker players to adapt to everyday life. I remember in school we had an assignment to write a note like this to ourselves and its honestly a great tip for aspiring athletes (or poker players haha) to write to yourself. Anyone reading this should really give it a go, it sure helped me at that time of my life!:)

The all in with Jack's is wild. In a cash game, pre flop with Jack's sould just be either a half stack or quarter stack bet. The same range of hands will still call you but at least you will be able to see the flop so you can do what you do best.. analyze the hand and decide from there. If the jack comes for trips then you can go all in, kings will still be calling anyway. If you miss then get out of there with at least half ur money. Think about it, all-in w/ Js, the hands you are actually targeting are A,K and K,Q. The only other hands that would call have you dominated. 3 of the 5 combos who would call an all in have you beat. Thoughts??

Brad, thanks for all the poker advice and vlogs over the years. Now I'd like to return the favor - please leave your nails a bit longer when you clip them. Having them that short as you do is a good way to get infections and ingrown nails. 23:10 I don't think villain/pool even at these stakes is going to have such a protected checking range on the turn as in GTO so although a river check is correct theoretically, villain's range is going to be heavily skewed mostly towards bigger pocket pairs with showdown value (99, TT + ). Therefore exploitatively leading the river is going to yield a higher EV than it should in theory

With the K9 vs KQ hand, did you consider leading on the flop, with the plan of folding to a raise? You can charge club and straight draws (j10s, 67s), protect against over cards with a big club. I think you’ll get raised by sets, combo draws, and the one combos of 98s, but I think the combo draws have enough equity that folding to a raise is best. Thoughts?

Betting is reasonable, but he put an extra thousand in on the flop when he had 3 outs. It was an unfortunate runout that allowed him to get there on us immediately. I don't get too concerned when that happens.

Brad - I hope you read this comment and consider. It would be really helpful and insightful to discuss how things work when you win large sums of Money, like the 80K from the tournament you just got 3rd place. As well as how you handle taxes etc. Like did you walk out with 80K cash, do you wire transfer big sums, but carry cash in smaller amounts. How does the deposit ans withdrawal processes work with the banks and limitations that can cause additional eyeballs from the government your way, say depositing or taking out more than 10K at a time. How do taxes work at the end of the year and what is it like doing taxes? Are you considered self employed etc etc. Obviously not wanting to give up toooo much personal information but from a plebs point of view, it all sounds like it could be fairly complicated to deal with and would be interesting to know how that works. I think your fans would like to know too.
