I installed the road DLX to my beloved old commuter road bike to replace a topeak post mount rack. No more bashing my heels on the panniers, having my panniers touching my frame, or flexing and making their way into my spokes. Very happy.

I used one of these on my Cervelo R3 to add Ortlieb Panniers ( smaller size ones) and road from San Francisco to Tijuana and it was perfect.

love the road dlx. Bought it for the looks at first, but the angle of the panniers makes a much bigger difference than i initially thought. I use it on a cyclocross bike for touring but it barely fits behind the discbrake with a 140mm rotor. Its a mechanical discbrake and actually pretty big, so if using smaller hydraulics you could maybe fit it with a 160mm rotor also. What you should know is, that there won't be enough space for mudguards if using the axle mount on 28" wheels with 35mm tires or bigger. Thankfully i got eyelits, but even then there is only just a few mm space between tire and mudguard. The best thing is that i used a second one as a frontrack on my carbon fork, it beeing the only solution for carbonforks without caliper mounts so far, using the axle and the mudguard eyelit.

I didn't see any rack that mounts on 700c road bikes with discs, gears and with no lower eyelets - all your racks assume a removable skewer. I would appreciate it if you could show some of your racks that are designed for such conditions.

Heavy-duty, indeed! Even more suitable for heavily-loaded tours than Tubus. And the first one is, indeed, as narrow (but much less minimalist and much heavier) as Tubus' Airy and Fly, but also quite a bit tougher. Myself have a Tubus Airy, have toured with it a couple of times - and like it. Am considering acquiring a TailFin for My other, carbon bike (wouldn't think twice about it if it was even somewhat affordable: the bloody thing costs an arm and a leg!).

The quick release skewer is meant to go into the lower eyelets clamping it to the dropouts. The single upper strut goes behind the rim brake nut. For the double upper struts there are adapters for the Seatpost clamp or for the seat stays

So, I ended getting the Streamline Disc for my Scott MTB but the dropouts are not flat, so the rack can't be mounted. I should have thought of that before I bought it but wanted to mention it in case any of you other potential buyers have the same issue. Will give the old P Clamp a try.

And it broke (the rack) after about 18 months of commuting. Carrying a grand total of socks, undies, t shirt and laptop. Oh and this was during Covid too, so I probably used it a max of 100 times. Maybe I got a bad one, but I would be reluctant to buy one again.

Nice racks. It seems the Road DLX rack is only the one solution for road bikes for tourism. But I have some doubts that rack may carry up to 50 kilos.

The decal was missing a piece of a corner but I ended up peeling them off anyways. Assembly is easy BUT make sure you tune up the derailleurs. Both the front and rear need adjusting. I'd advise going to a bike shop but I opted out and put in 10+ hours with the help of KZbin. Ended up fraying a shifter cable but all in all I learned from the experience. The Brakes work well but the front caliper needs adjusting or at least mine did because the rotor was rubbing against the pads. Make sure you swap out the seat, grips, and pedals. For the short run you'll be fine though. I've read that this bike isn't built yet for hard trails but I just need it for the city. PA has some of the worst roads and being in a mountain this was a great choice. Worth the investment!

I have the Transit rear rack and it doesn't provide enough clearance for my fenders. Do these have more clearance for the tires? And can they accommodate 700 x 34 mm?

I've got the Road DLX on my Road bike due to the short chainstay & now can use my panniers without kicking them. Looking at getting the Disk DLX to fit on a Bickerton as having the same problem & hoping this will help & able to use for carrying loads on it.

unfortunately you cannot use racks that mount to the seat stays if your bike is full suspension, you need a rack that mounts to your seat post but those racks can be fairly flimsy

”pann-yay".. a KZbin pseudo expert who doesnt know how to say pannier. Ask Merriam Webster how to say this word. The French themsleves dont say "pann-yay".. which translates to bread basket. Pannier is a distinctly English word, pronounced with English phonetics, not French. Again reference the Merriam Webster history of this word.
