3:10 This is actually a remarkably wonderful way to show larger riders how the bike can still work for them. By virtue of the life of a bike reviewer, most are rather fit. So when a 250lb man (me) watches those reviews, it does little to tell me how the bike will perform. Whether this was your motivation or not, thank you.

Done 500 miles in 4 months on my rad. Regularly go on canal paths and through Epping forest this winter. Such a fun ride. In the settings you can increase speed to 20mph. 25miles range max power or 35/40 in eco. Bit slow up hills but it’s heavy. Sometimes I get error code but a prod on the connectors usually sorts it out. Still rideable when battery goes but it’s tough especially after doing 40miles. I love my rad. Only one puncture. But now I go everywhere with slime, spare Amazon inner tubes, levers, 15mm wrench and a pump. Funnily enough I fixed the puncture with a slime patch at Halfords and it’s been running fine for the last 350 miles. They (Halfords) thought I may not be able to get home with the patch. 10/10 bike.

To show how impressive this bike is to ride, I have a little story. My wife and I have talked about getting ebikes for several years, but she is kind of thrifty(she throws nickels around like they are manhole covers), and we never pulled the trigger on buying them. On labor day, friends came by on their bikes(our back yard abuts a gorgeous 20+ mile paved bike trail in northern Indiana) and one of them had a new Radrunner plus. They insisted that we try it out, so we both rode it up the trail a ways and back. I was amazed, but my wife was totally blown away. After they left, she had me immediately order two!

I own one, and let me tell you this, you can go up some SERIOUS hills with large gradients on level 5 assist and in 1st gear and not even break a sweat. Easy peazy. However, as the battery begins to wain (two bars left) the bigger grade ones you will have to get off and put it in walk mode. For reference I weigh 155 pounds. After riding a ton of hills in my area it seems the battery never dies. I have only two complaints, it doesn't always find gears 1, 2 and 3 with authority and the seats are like sitting on a rock. Thanks for the review Micah!

I recently purchased this bike. I really like it except for the seat. The seat is fixed with no adjustment to move it forward or backward only up or down. Thus, I am changing the seat post and seat. I'm a short person 5'5" tall. Because there is no adjustment on this fixed seat-, the seat is welded to the Seatpost, it doesn't lean like a regular bike so you have to be very careful turning. Another option is to take the seat out and use the back pad as your seat. This is the problem with not being able to ride a bike before purchase. If you're fortunate to have one of the few shops that carry this bike then realize this can be a problem for those who like to lean into their turns on a bike.
@The_Real_Y22 жыл бұрын
I'm trying to understand what you mean when you say "...it doesn't lean like a regular bike...." Is this due somehow to the seatpost? Or just the design of the bike as a whole?
@dapper-Dan3 жыл бұрын
I love this bike and have put about 500 miles on it so far. Stock seat is terrible but for $150 you can swap it out with a good suspension post and saddle. A huge benefit to the suntour post is that you sit a few inches further back making pedaling a lot more comfortable. I still keep the stock seat for my wife since she’s shorter and lowers it flush with the bench. Highly recommend this bike!
@kenhoward35122 жыл бұрын
That the standard seat is terrible, but can easily be replaced with the same size seat post (for another $150) is something that should have been mentioned in the review. Not one single criticism was mentioned, except for the bike being "a little heavy," which it certainly is.
@TheYBGOON2 жыл бұрын
Stock seat is fine. I’ve decided to keep mine. I’m still young and I ride Mtb and bmx so a seat with suspension etc is not needed. I take my rad into the forest about once a month and my bottom never complains. Feet usually get soaked though.

I have a Rad Rover....for the money it is the best value proposition I have found. Other companies offer "similar" form-factors for a few dollars less (or Much, Much More) But Rad offerings hit that sweet spot between price, performance and durability combined with responsive support and customer service. Add the fact that basic parts, along with "upgrades" are easy to find off-the-shelf or from a growing number of on-line vendors. While you can purchase parts directly from Rad, most items are not strictly proprietary meaning you can anticipate using their bikes for many years to come.

Next winter, i'll have to find a solution for that though.

@@fsflip3111 I only have 70 miles on it. I've had to tighten the spokes every other ride, so every 10-20 miles. I'm over the bikes weight capacity though, so I bought extras with the bike. I haven't had any break yet.

This seems perfect except I don't know if it'd fit in my apartment since it doesn't fold and I wouldn't be able to lift a bike heavier than 40 ish pounds and no way am I leaving it outside lol.

I prefer the RadRunner single speed to this. It hits the sweet spot, imo. Gears aren't all that beneficial to this runabout and the added complexity is a big turn-off over the single speed. Same goes for the front suspension vs a rigid fork. It's just not that beneficial for the type of riding that this bike is intended for. The balloon tires make the rigid fork ok for pavement and light trails. The base RadRunner hits KISS just right. Keep It Simple Stupid. As a bonus, it's cheaper too!

The other thing is that in Europe with 250 watt limit, the 20 inch wheels make it climb better than the rad rhino

How hard is it to get and to change the tires? How fast do they wear out?
@lancethorup76313 жыл бұрын
fThey are available and just as easy to change as regular bike tires

I’ve been riding my 8000w E Bike from Sahara Bikes for a few months now. Absolutely wild how fast this goes. Planning to get the 5000w for son for his birthday this year. Highly recommend you guys check them out. This bike seems ok. Really cool bike, These guys need to try out the bikes from Sahara Bikes. Their ET Bike is fully electric, with 4 speed manual transmission and clutch. Would love to see these guys test it out. I've owned these bikes before, they were ok. But all i have been riding as of late is the Wild Coyote E Bike from Sahara Bikes, Y’all need to check them out if you want something superior. Really want to see these guys review the Sahara Bikes Wild Coyote E bike, I;ve heard nothing but good things from the research i've been doing, but there still isn't much on it.

I think Rad power bikes should have optional space for an additional battery. There is space underneath the passenger seat and can be made for a second battery.
@tmurphy09193 жыл бұрын
Most folks don't ride far enough to need 2 batteries but a company called mri-denver makes a mounting plate from aluminum. You could mount the battery securely wherever.

trying to decide over this or the rad wagon, which do you guys think is best
@MoPoppins3 жыл бұрын
The RadWagon is longer, and I’m not sure if it’s got any suspension. If those two factors (for starters) aren’t an issue, then you can consider it. The wagon is more focused on the cargo- and human-carrying aspect. If that’s more of a priority for you, it’s probably a good idea to check out a review specifically for the RadWagon.
@ProfessorHamer3 жыл бұрын
I have the radwagon primarily to do the school run (the rear is big enough to cover it with a tent style roof for rain and sun protection), but since it can carry the groceries as well as a small car with four panniers, it's become more of a car replacement than I thought, so you can't really compare a cargo ebike to a regular one. However I would say that the radwagon doesn't handle like a big heavy truck, it's a pleasure to ride. So in terms of value, I'd go for the radwagon.
@drekex67673 жыл бұрын
It depends what you want to do with it. If it’s for commuting, the Radrunner plus is lighter, has suspension and being shorter length wise allows you to maneuver around things better. The Radwagon is a solid alternative to a car since you can bring all your groceries and it’s built sturdier for bringing people. Both are good for different things

Is it comfortable to sit on the passenger portion of the bike seat? I really love the moped look but it has to be comfortable for me to pull the trigger.
@Hoggdoc19463 жыл бұрын
Nice looking but doubt they designed the frame as I know the OEM factory in China that makes all their bikes. Also their 750 w motor is really only 750 watt peak more like 500 w continuous.
