RAD: Tucson Operations (May 2019)

Many of you know RAD was bought out late last year. Thankfully the corporate overlords are letting remain as their own hauler - only now instead of sourcing their 'new' trucks with internal refurbs, they're purchasing brand new. Feel free to drop any questions in the comments.

Good mix of old and new out there it seems. They retire anything or were the Pythons just an add on to the fleet? Operated impressively fast just like many of the new trucks out there (like we were talking about). The Mack STARR sounded incredible and that arm sure flew! Awesome compilation like always

Nice video, I enjoyed it. The MR Starr sounded very nice and that driver sure knows how to drive it. The new python was interesting, not sure what to think of it, it’s ok I guess. The condor with the blue arm was very nice. Very cool trucks featured here, can’t wait to see what rad uses for Good Year

Do any municipalities out there in AZ run their own front loads instead of sourcing out to the bigger companies?

Quite a few do that, the FLs service all city facilities and business that choose their service over a private company.

All the metro cities compete with private haulers out here. Except Phoenix, but they still handle city parks, fire/police, libraries, some schools/churches, and multi-family living units (not apartments) with front load.

legodude24652 thanks for that info..I currently do front load for advanced disposal here in WI..considering moving to AZ next and depending on pay would like to work for a municipality, these 55+ hour weeks are getting old..or maybe I’m just getting older lol

@@Adam_824 Not sure what pay looks like in WI, but drivers here make next to nothing. I've seen as low as $14/hour for a private hauler and the highest at $18.50 for a town.

Garbage Trucks AZ good lord that’s horrible! At years end I’ll be at full scale which puts me just over $27/hr Guess I’ll be finding a different career field if I decide to make the move down there 😕
