really cool video and concept. What you actually build is a "gyroscopic gunsight" instead of a radar. These where used in the late months of ww2 both by german and allied planes (k4 gyroscopic gunsight as example). This sights accaounjted for bullet velocity and drop, giving an estimated lead sighting point for the pilot, who just had to introduce wingspan and distance to target for the computer to calculate the lead

I considered saying this myself, but I had faith in humanity. And for once, it actually paid off. Thank you stranger, someone had to say it.

Thanks. This helps alot. The first two prototypes are relatively what i wanted to see👍

I think Trailmakers just hates you building anything with the word "radar" in it

Seeing as this video was sponsored by a comment, i will be seizing my opertunity to once again ask for a power coupling engine. Preferably, one usefull on plains. To save you a bit of a headache, the most i managed to acomplish rather consistantly reguardless of desighn, is a great rotational force. My mind instantly went to an axle of some sorts. howerver, i am very lazy.

i did try actually but physics gets too angry. i make stuff work, but not through miracles.

Make a Fire control system that accounts for lead and has automatic tracking for tank and it's whole turret Push a button to lock onto a target and the whole turret will rotate towards the point accounting for range, lead, and speed

i cant. the only way is via sensors but that does not work because it would lock on the ground. i tried.

We need a "only target blocks" feature, it would make my missiles much better, for one.

Vary interesting concept. You have had a lot of short to medium range weapons but what about long range. But would it be possible to use translation by manually aiming 2 servos to a point (using a sight) and using that to not only aiming but to get distance. Can you use that to account for very long distance shots for far away targets? It would most lily be on the ground. Also do you think you would have more success with a bomb impact radar gunsight for a plain?
@ThisIsDumbAllTheNamesAreTaken3 ай бұрын
actually yeah, i got a few vids on a rangefinder on my channel and the end goal was to feed it distance values by using a range finder. i never got around to it. the issues i had were mostly linking everything and the scale and stuff. also servos dont have good prescion so range past 500m is hard to do.

Can you use a radar for guiding a missile cuz using the distance sensor is really bar for guidence
@ThisIsDumbAllTheNamesAreTaken3 ай бұрын
sadly it fails at speed.

@@ThisIsDumbAllTheNamesAreTakenpretty sure that tm just kinda gets weird at high speeds in general especially when it comes to stuff like servos and hinges etc. similar to how power coupling explode everywhere when at high speed

jhon I also tried to make this. I took a rather different aproach so it would be interesting if we could team up?
