Update: i tried my half baked lazy metnod pathetic excuse of a quantum drive, by of course simply spinning the engine arround the craft. It works exeptionally well, giving me exeptional mobility on a suprisingly small and realitivly slow craft. (Almost 200mph exactly) while very unorthadox to fly, the potential is near limitless if you fully master the sacred tow matter arts of driving backwards. How do i put this... it doesnt fly like a plane, or a spaceship. It flies more like the turret you would mount on said plane or spaceship, if that makes sence. Though i will say, my last minute touch of adding a piston locking mechanism to hold the engine in place was a great addition, allowing it to function simular to a plane for greater controllability. Turns out, using even 2 blocks of leverage with your gyros instead of just using the gyros themselfs grants a much much higher menuverability.

this is awsome,I must say. I thinked about player-tracking missiles an got some design. I'm not good with these so i'm giving it to you : after launch missile must rapidly accelerate(strongest jet engine for no DLC), then it starts spinning. Missile must have range detectors that activates gyros for turn. Range detectors can be placed on one or two axis : spin make flying up and right ussles, because spinning rocket will roll. (Bad at english I am)

If you want to make the nose of the f35 stubbier, put the spaceship cockpit a block back and put decal over part of the windshield. decals are magic maybe if you piston glitched the nose cone back 1 block then you might also be able to make that part stubbier as you had wanted. However, piston glitches and stuff like that almost always make things less stable so do it at your own risk.

I cal, them quantum engines personally, now that vectoring system, thats a drive. On that topic, i see it. Eing easier to simply rotate the entire engine itself, though it only works with smaller sizes. But thats all you really need, speed is optional when you can swap directions instantly
@ThisIsDumbAllTheNamesAreTaken4 күн бұрын
i personally prefer to have multiple because of redundancy and also because its less mechanically intensive as opposed to rotating the entire engine. its like the difference in mechanical devices and solid digital devices, its simply faster and easier i think.

@ThisIsDumbAllTheNamesAreTaken really? Becuase strictly speaking, I only use one logic gate for that, I just program half the engines to half the wheels and wire it up to the or switch, and becuase engine power is evenly spread across wheels, the force in each wheel is double but the total power is cut in half, multiply that by the other half and what do you know? You still have full power.

Vary interesting concept. You have had a lot of short to medium range weapons but what about long range. But would it be possible to use translation by manually aiming 2 servos to a point (using a sight) and using that to not only aiming but to get distance. Can you use that to account for very long distance shots for far away targets? It would most lily be on the ground. Also do you think you would have more success with a bomb impact radar gunsight for a plain?
@ThisIsDumbAllTheNamesAreTaken9 күн бұрын
actually yeah, i got a few vids on a rangefinder on my channel and the end goal was to feed it distance values by using a range finder. i never got around to it. the issues i had were mostly linking everything and the scale and stuff. also servos dont have good prescion so range past 500m is hard to do.

The way i increase survivability with logic systems is really quite simple, i du0licate it and just crosswire them with eachother. It deff8netly works better for smaller circits, however its proven to be effective with larger ones. a tip I noticed for mechs that you probably go over in this vidio but i haven't watched it all the way is that I recommend making the servo's strength a lot lower like 20 or 40 or so to make it move organically like its actual walking instead of it vary robotically moving to the positions it also makes it so when your hit or flung it actually looks like your getting hit instead of just moving backward

Im looking at this and the old videos about the old computer, and its impressive, but I can't help but want to introduce you to the concept of an OR-loop: basically 2 OR gates feeding into each other create a storage cell for a number from -1 to 1, and you can add or subtract stuff from that number every tick by doing an input into both of the gates, and you can take that number and use it for stuff. I have been able to output those numbers onto a display, do addition, subtraction, multiplication(a bit scuffed but works), compare numbers, and even synchronise turrets with different horizontal traverse limits ("early turret control system" on the WS). I tried more stuff like an old fasioned rangefinder with 2 cameras, but my trigonometry knowledge is khmkhmNotGoodkhmkhm. love the "useless logic stuff" though🙃
@ThisIsDumbAllTheNamesAreTaken21 күн бұрын
already aware. that's a way to store data. i am trying to compute data. i don't need to store data if im doing the computations live and feeding the output right to the gun. unless you can do powers and nested fractions it probably wont help but if you could send me a video to see it i would still love to.

There is a way to effectivelly stop crate launchers using Powercuplers. By creating a wall held up by powercuplers under tension you can sort of achive that magnet / suspension effect that acts like a giant net, almost flawlessly absorbing the kinetic energy of the crate. @ThisIsDumbAllTheNamesAreTaken22 күн бұрын
see, i would love to do an uncaged seeker but that does not actually fix the issues. the missiles just lets targets slip through the gaps at range. even if i did use the long range sensors as i said before, it would only be able to target aircraft. aircraft are also fast and a relatively small target so its impossible to hit at range i think. simply put its too easy to notch at range.

So thats how stablizers work, I might need to play around with that. But what I do know I will be doing, adding a rotating sensor array to the front of a turret to create a sort of auto fire effect. Will it be helpful? Probably not on a piloted creation. But it would help to take some focus on the battle itself and trastfer it to positioning and or aiming

So, 3rd and final update (attest on this specific video) I've expiramented with some prototype ballistic armors, first I tried hoverpads, they proved capable of shooting any custom projectiles back at the sender, and reducing the knock back significantly. However, the total damaged received was pretty much identical. Slightly reduced yes. But not by enough. Then I tries ski's, thinking the projectile wouldn't get a good grip on them. Sme reults as the hovorpads, though they did take much less damage. without the whole return to sender thing of course. Way too complex anyways, do not recommend. Lastly I tried friction blocks, now the thing is they work, but your front armor is gonna be gone. Now this did prove effective at stopping one thing, scorn penatrators. Previously an unstoppable force that would rip through your creation without a damn, its now been reduced to something that will still tear through the first 7 layers of armor without a damn. Infinity down to 7 is Technically much better than before, and i did get it to stop 3 layers in serveral times. Howerver this was very inconsistajt and unlikley. Maybe 15% of the time. so it has a niche but don't count on it. Layering this armor did not change any results.

Update on my findings, as you asked. Using repellant magnets aswell lead to a significant increase in durrability twards large projectiles, being able to take 2-5 2x2's, tested with a veriety of models, and these numbers still proved consistant. And 3 10x6, being a massive callibur. However, if your opponent is using some sort of shotgun, its heavily dependant on their ammunition. Results where mixed, but in general your cooked. The 3 most effective ones where "Hinge Shot" and "Power Shot", both of which ignoring the front armor plate entireley reguardless of distance up untill ineffectie range. And finnally, "Scorn Peniteator". Now, if they have scornes loaded up, your screwed. It simply goes through everything, and becuase of how odly accurate they are along with being decal blocks, (0 drag) they will rock your shit reguardless of range. And of course, look damn cool while doing it with those fire trails. TLDR i was able to strengthem them with oppsing mags, they helped to mitigate the impact greatly. Howerver, armor peircing is still armor peircing.
